Trust Me (Eric McCormack & Tom Cavanagh) --New Series-- "Before & After" -- 1/26/09
Synopsis:
Spoiler:
What this series is about:
Set against the backdrop of the high-pressure world of advertising, TRUST ME focuses on Mason (McCormack) and Conner (Cavanagh), a pair of ad men whose strong creative partnership has served the firm of Rothman Greene & Mohr extremely well over the years. Mason, an art director, is a responsible, workaholic family man with a beautiful wife, Erin (Sarah Clarke), two children and an undying loyalty to the brands he helps sell. By contrast, his writing partner, Conner (Cavanagh), is a single, impulsive copywriter with the attention span of a teenager. Their yin-yang relationship is put to the test when Mason is named a creative director of the agency, making him Conner's boss. The series follows the changing dynamics between the two friends, who are better together than they are apart.
Also working in the same creative group is new hire Sarah Krajicek-Hunter (Monica Potter), an award-winning copywriter whose forceful personality has a tendency to rub people the wrong way. Hector (Geoffrey Arend) and Tom (Mike Damus) are a junior creative team with untraditional ideas that don't always sit well with their new boss. The entire team is supervised by Tony Mink (Griffin Dunne), a man who lives and dies by the advertising business but has a growing sense his days in this young person's business may be numbered.
TRUST ME follows these memorable characters as they try to navigate the waters of inter-office politics, personality conflicts, easily bruised egos, professional jealousies and unreasonable client demands.

I already have enough stuff to watch, but I will see how this 1st episode is. It's got a very good cast and is from the producers of The Closer.

I'll check it out, but I don't have high hopes. Not a big fan of McCormack, but I do like Cavanagh.

I'll record it since I like Cavanagh. Now, where is my Ed on DVD sets?

I just wanna second the "where is my Ed DVDs?" vote. For the people who saw this, what sorta vibe did you get? Washed down version of Mad Men?

Totally different show compared to Mad Men. Mad Men really is more about the time (the 60's) then it is anything else. This show is more the opposite...really about the relationship between McCormack and Cavanagh.
Liked:
McCormack and Cavanagh - Great chemistry
Monica Potter - She was great...can't tell if she is cute or hot though?
Jason O'Mara - Scene stealer...sadly though he can't come back...Life on Mars cross over maybe?
Not showing the CEO - I liked that...nice touch
Didn't like:
Commercials - Ugh, too many breaks, start to drag towards the end...ugh!
The end - We all knew it was coming...it just took 40 mins to get there
The boss (Tony) - Where have I seen this before...or right every other boss on TV!
Aside from that, great show and I don't watch The Closer...so not bad. i will stick around unless network TV has something on at 10 on Mondays.

I thought it was decent and will likely tune in again. Didn't offer anything new for scripted cable dramas, but was engaging and charming throughout (if a tad predictable).

i watched it, thought it was OK, and would watch if nothing else was on.
My wife got bored and left the room to do something else before the first boss was even cold.

Re: Trust Me (Eric McCormack & Tom Cavanagh) --Monday's on TNT
After watching two episodes, I am not really impressed.. Might be a good one for the summer drought, but don't know if it will stay on season pass as spring shows start picking up. What the hell happened to Monica Potter? She was so hot in Along Came a Spider, but now not so much. Plus her character on this show is so friggin annoying!

I thought the pilot was a snooze, but I found the second episode to be more interesting. I am interested to see if this show gets better or not.

I have three stacked. Co-workers have reported that the whole show seems to have been built around the lead actors, and it shows. Anyone care to "vote it of the island"/my TiVo season pass? So far I'm not really hearing a compelling argument for keeping it.

My wife loves Tom Cavanagh so we're in this for the long haul. I actually found it enjoyable though, so I won't mind watching it. The second episode was a lot better than the pilot.

It's weird seeing Nina Myers as a loving wife.
Still, the show is decent, not really spectacular, but not bad for what it is.

I finally watched the third episode. It was boring and I came to realization that there is not one character I like on this show. I removed the season pass.
