Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Horatio believes that a prominent defense attorney (Sean Combs) is involved in the cover-up of a murder.

Okay normally I don't do CSI Miami threads since lots of you here hate this show. But, I couldn't resist doing one for this week since:

Spoiler:

P. Diddy is guest starring as a defense attorney. rotfl I know Combs is a somewhat decent actor, but I can't see him having any credibility playing a lawyer.

I don't think credibility is high on CSI:M's priority list...

Can't wait. It should work out fine.

CSI Miami has been going strong recently. Last week it pulled in 15.99 million with the return of

This show is changing. There hasn't been a 'one liner/sunglasses/credits' beat in a long time, the over-the-top nature of the show is toned down a bit and it's a bit grittier as well. Overall, it seems like the writers are looking at the criticism the show has gotten and are changing it for the better.

I actually kind of agree with you. I've noticed that the show has become less corny and has attempted to become a much more serious procedural drama.

As for tonight's episode. I thought it was pretty good. Combs or Diddy did a good job playing a smug/arrogant lawyer.

Yeah, it was clear he was attempting to bury his 'hip-hop' style of speech a bit and sound more "professional". Never thought I'd say I'm looking forward to his next appearance.

Another aspect of the show that is pretty obvious, is that the supposed feud between Caruso and Procter must be real, since they indeed have no scenes together (and haven't all season) with a couple of curious exceptions:

At least two episodes had them communicating face to face, but in both instances, Procter could have been a stand in (as we only see the back of her head so it wouldn't have to be Procter herself) or a split-screen effect, showing Procter on one side of the screen and Caruso on the other.

Since they are the only two who don't interact where it's obvious they are in the same scene for real, that's a shame that the rumors were true.

I also agree that the show has gotten "better" lately. It's not even so bad it's funny, it's just average. Fuck you, writers ;).

the mini love story between Delco and Calleigh is hysterical.

She is in the hospital and he professes his love and puts his watch on her?!?!!? and when she wakes up we get hit with lines like..
"I knew you were there"
"You heard me"
"It was like a dream"

:puke:

And Wolfe...I have never rooted so hard for a guy to get sandwiched in between 2 school buses since, well, Horatio. Can he take off that douche tie and wipe that smug look on his face? He always looks constipated.

as someone who has watched this show since day 1, i am so close to just saying goodbye. i can't tolerate it. but i have no clue as to why i still can't take it off the season pass.

Probably because it looks oh so good in HD.

It was ok, but I thought last week was better. Combs did good, but it felt like we got too much of him. Early report say 13.67 million viewers. That's quite a drop.

And what's the story about some feud between Procter and Caruso? Seems like it's just rumors.

By the way, did they ever resolve what was wrong with her, and why she got sick but Delco didn't? That seemed like a story thread that just vanished.

The rumor is that Procter is the only person on the show who refuses to work with Caruso, and as I mentioned, so far they've not had any significant on-screen contact at all, unless effects and stand-ins are used. Therefore they may not be rumors after all, since the evidence is on the screen.

like the body would still be in the morgue by the time it got to trial
trials take months to get started

Yeah, I thought they would explain it. Odd how she started coughing like crazy a long while after she got out of the house.

Well, they did say the defense pushed for a quick trial and it had only been 6 weeks.

As a reporter I've covered my share of murder trials. The body would have been turned over to the family for burial following autopsy. She would have been in the ground within days of her murder. Families don't want to wait weeks to have the funeral.

And you're also never going to find a morgue where the bodies are stored in pretty glass cabinets. The refrigeration would have prevented the blow flies from developing, too.

But at this point, who watches "CSI: Miami" hoping for anything resembling realism?
