First episode I have ever watched. We had company who normally catch it. I thought it was very funny. I could follow well without ever seeing any others.

I'm surprised to how many previous episodes this particular one referred to. If you knew the backstory to Leonard meeting Penny's ex-boyfriend and Sheldon in the Halloween episode, you may have gotten a few more laughs.

There was also reference to the episode when Penny had to drive Sheldon around and he was nagging her about the check engine light :)

Pretty good episode. The intro and Sheldon's song at the end were my favorite parts.
