Synopsis:

Spoiler:

The Sangala standoff continues, and Dubaku threatens another high-value target with the CIP module. The entire security community scrambles to identify the target, and Jack, Chloe, Tony, Renee and Bill follow leads. Meanwhile, FBI agent Janis Gold (Janeane Garofalo) brings a touch of paranoia to her job.

So looking forward to tonight's episode.

Intense.

EDIT: Great episode. Heavy on the action this time around. I can't believe
Spoiler:
Dubaku escaped
though. It seems as though they had him surrounded.

Next week's looks really good too. So far I am very impressed with this season.

So far so good this season. Next week's is the last episode shot before the writer's strike if I'm not mistaken. Should be interesting to see if everyone maintains the same appearance the week after. :)

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- "2:00pm to 3:00pm" -- 2/2/09

I figured Dubaku would get away since he seems to be the main bad guy. Not sure how it will play out but it is good he now switched to hostage taking. In the past seasons, I always found it strange that when a major portion of the bad guy's plans were foiled, they moved on to their next evil sceme. Its like they had multiple scemes ready to go if one got disrupted.

What's with Dubaku's girlfriend? That was weird.

I'm sure Jack will eventually torture her to find out where he might be.

Really good episode. I was on the edge of my seat for most of it.

Dubaku is not the main bad guy. There's a reason Jon Voight was in 24: Redemption. Dubaku is more like the distraction before the real enemies within the country come through the woodwork.

It was a good episode, lots of action, great to see Bill finally getting to shoot some baddies.

Re: Twenty Four (24) -- "2:00pm to 3:00pm" -- 2/2/09

Great episode. Very surprised to see a Non-Jon Cassar, Brad Turner directed episode be so exciting with so much action.

Loved the shootout in Dubaku's hideout. That was freaking intense. Bill, Jack and Tony were so badass! along with Renee.

I heard Jon Voight should appear by the midway point this season.

Next week is indeed episode 8, which was the last one shot before the writer's strike and the last episode Joel Surnow was involved with creatively before he left the show.

It's going to be interesting to see how episode 9 looks since it was shot 4 1/2 months later (March 2008) and after Kiefer was released from jail.

Next week looks just as badass.

Seeing Jack, Bill, Tony and Renee in action together, the ultimate A Team ! that rocked all kinds of creamy sexiness !

who needs the CIA, FBI, NSA, and whatever else!?

All you need is Jack, Tony, Bill, and Renee!

The one thing I'm disappointed with is
Spoiler:
that the president's husband somehow isn't dead yet. Really...so he somehow physically overcomes the agent, despite being fed a neuro-inhibitor. and now he's being given to Dubaku, which I'm sure he'll somehow get out of, or be rescued from. Just kill him off, he's boring...

Other than that...it's been great so far. Good action, good tension, good performances.

Everyone talking about Jack, Bill, Tony, and Renee seems to be forgetting one key element of that team...CHLOE! Without her, Jack would've been dead or in jail or something a long time ago. Renee has grown on me as well, especially when she shot that guy that was coming to get the Prime Minister and his wife.

Those 5 Together are the ultimate crime-fighting team.

"Open me up a fresh socket!!!" -- I love the technobabble in this show.

Dubaku's shitty apartment and waitress girlfriend are a hilariously great subplot.

While it wasn't that shitty, it could be hilarious. He can't get somewhere because he's waiting for the Landlord to send a plumber for his shower...or he drops the CIP Device in his garbage disposal by accident...

I think this was the first time this year someone mentioned a "socket." It usually happens much earlier in the season.

I would watch the hell out of an "Everybody Loves Dubaku"-style sitcom spinoff...

I was waiting for Dubaku to speak in an American Accent to his gal pal. that would have been cool if they did that.

otherwise, its a stupid subplot. who has time to bang a chick while trying to kill 17k people.

janeane is a horrible actress given terrible lines. worse than chloe, if thats possible.

didnt know that alex keaton's dad is the 'first man' (;-) although they do look alike).

also, why didnt they tell the prez to keep her mouth shut to EVERYONE when they spoke with her on the phone. obviously, a bad guys going to find out now. sloppy!

right? the entire concept is awesome - I wonder what they talked about at the coffee shop?

Waitress: "So what do you do?"

Dubaku: "Well my brother is a deposed general fighting a genocidal civil war against the democratically elected government of my home country. I'm assisting him here by engaging in domestic terrorism."

It's a shame, he can employ a private army but he's got to live in a shitty studio apartment.

Dubaku: "Why are dare anchovies on dees pizza?"

Pizza boy: "Just pick them off."

Dubaku: "Peek dem off? They haff already touched! It weel all taste of anchovies!!! Eet is no good!!!"

Pizza boy: "Well, it's gonna take an hour to get you a new one."

Dubaku: "But I haff somewhere to be!" (Sighs) "Alright, alright." (Makes a call) "Dare has been a complication. The plan weel haff to be pushed back an hour."

Dubaku is so pissed that for the rest of the season he uses the CIP Device to mix up pizza orders.

I liked last night's episode, but I think it finally hit me why I don't like President Taylor as much as past 24 Presidents (although she's a lot better than Wayne Palmer):

Taylor always verbalizes exactly what's going on in her head, and it's starting to drive me crazy:

"We can't do...because that would mean..."
"I'm not going to...because that would result in..."

What made David Palmer, Logan, and Daniels so fun to watch is that you had no idea what those SOBs were thinking from one episode to the next...they'd always surprise us.

I thought it was great that the "Honey" guy died for nothing. And that they brought back the firewall guy just long enough to kill him horribly.

Well, "Honey" Guy is busy over on Lost, so they had to let him go. Same reason why Daniel Dae Kim's Agent Baker suddenly vanished. :)
