That is my one gripe. With the whole time travel aspect the writers now have free range to go back and fill in "or just make up" answers to questions that didn't seem like they would be able to early on. I love this show but wonder how much hat pulling is going on in these later seasons to make up for all of the mysteries presented in the first few seasons. They better explain why the Dharma drops continued for years despite the Dharma being M.I.A. for quite some time as well as where the hell they come from.

With tonight's show and after The Constant and the Season 4 finale, I think the love story of Desmond and Penny has as much to do about Lost as anything else going on.

So can we assume that when Ben said Whitmore "changed the rules" he meant that the others aren't supposed to kill one another i.e. when Juliet killed the dude who was beating on Sawyer? We now know that Whitmore was an other.

Well, now I know why I have avoided threads like this for the first 4 seasons. Someone in the season premiere thread mentioned/speculated that Widmore was probably one of the guys that captured Sawyer/Juliet. I'm sure many people may have speculated on that fact, but I didn't and it was kind of a letdown since I had that in the back of my mind.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the last thread and will probably follow the threads throughout the season, but I'm going to have to be careful what I read from now on.

Seems a bit contrived to me. The past changed by the future going back in the past to make the future crazy. If that were the case then why couldn't Richard and Ben having known what was coming with the 815 go and sabotage the flight to ensure that the Losties never make it to the island and cause their rampage of terror?

That makes alot of sense. Maybe Charlotte is pregnant? The island hasnt always been hard to find if the military was there and set up a bomb testing facility.

It depends on when and how long Richard/Ben/Locke run into each other. Obviously Locke won't have time to explain everything. Then again, perhaps they do try to stop things and everything course corrects ....

One thing we know for sure, Locke never encounters Richard prior to 1954.

I loved this episode. But I love anything involving Desmond and Penny. I also love Faraday. Frankly I don't give 2 shits about anybody else anymore.

Just give me a nice Des, Dan, Ben, and Chuck variety hour and I'm good.

Kid's name being Charlie is interesting. I don't know if my love for Charlie Pace could out-weigh my hatred of Charles Widmore in that case.

When Faraday talked about the atomic bomb tests...I literally had to rewind the DVR 5 or 6 times before I figured out he was saying "South Pacific".

We were talking about this last week at work; Daniel has far and away become my favorite character (I'd like to have Frank back tho') -- and outside of Sayid, I could really care less about the original 'core' group anymore.

What about that polar bear painting in Widmore's office? Last time we saw a similar painting in "Flashes Before Your Eyes" only this one had NAMASTE painted at the top.

I think the drops continued as long as the button was pushed. We saw with the freighter crew how a helicopter could get close enough to make drops. Otherwise, a small plane would do.

I hope they don't drag the 70-hour window Ben has for the rest of the season.
