Face it, you have three dorks show up that don't know dick about Clark. They knew Superman. They didn't provide a shred of evidence that they were from the future, just some clever "wink-wink, nod-nod" fan-service moments that meant nothing to Clark. For all he knew, they were just three meteor freaks, one with the ability to read his mind about krypton, chloe, his past, et al.

Clark knew them all of a few hours. I just think it is a stretch that he's ready to take their word about anything thus far without any proof, especially killing Chloe. Maybe if they come back they can bring back some photos or newspaper clippings about all the great things he did/will do.

Anyway, I hope they never show up again unless they recast all three of 'em, maybe a bit older. Maybe get an actress that doesn't sound like she swallowed a tablespoon of peanut butter before filming the scene.
All he has to do is use the ring, but you know the writers won't do that to him to keep him grounded.

What anyone "knows" about time travel is purely hypothetical. But your point is valid. This is science fiction and writers' rules about such things are their rules.

Yay Smallville writers! Way to not fuck it up again!!
I thought the same thing. I guess they could still do this, as I dont remember Chloe specifying what secret she was referring to. I was trying to think what lame secret they could use, and drew a blank. Guess she could pull out the "he has meteor powers" card.

It's funny; on the kryptonsite fan forum, most reacted positively to the Chloe mind-wipe. I hated it!
