The Office - "Duel" - 1/15/09

Spoiler:
Thanks to Michael's running mouth, Andy finally learns that his beloved Angela had an affair with Dwight, a discovery that incites the two romantic rivals to square off. Elsewhere, Michael is on edge about a corporate appointment.

So glad this is back.

Will this be affected by the Presidential address?

EDIT: According to NBC.com, The Office won't be affected.

Hilarious episode, and Angela got what she deserved. Although I gotta wonder if the character is going to be written off? I don't think there's anyway they can redeem the character.

great episode

Yeah that would have been interesting.

LOVED the intro, very funny. Was this playing in fullscreen for anyone else? I could have sworn they use to run this in WS but tonight it was full and there were several occasions where someone's head was cut off. I was pretty unhappy about it. And I checked multiple tvs, all were the same.

It was widescreen here.

Yeah, it was messed up. On a fullscreen TV, you couldn't see some of the characters in several scenes. The worst were between Michael and his boss--they were both cut off and all you saw were their feet.

I don't know if that's some NBC conspiracy (the messed up SD) or just a bunch of local affiiates that are all NBC who keep messing this up. My NBC is out of Greensboro or Roanoke (depending on which I watch). A friend's NBC is out of Richmond. All 3 stations get this from time to time.

thats how this whole season has been. I tv it so i dont watch it in HD and its like they are showing the widescreen of the show without zooming out, in the past both characters would be off the screen. it has drove me nuts.

anyways this episode was fantastic, loved the stuff with Micheal in wallaces office. Fantastic episode

I'm sure they'll find some way to keep Angela involved.

David Wallace might be my favorite recurring character.

Hilarious stuff!

Dwight hiding different weapons around the office was a hoot.

I don't get all the love for this season of The Office. Found this to be yet another tedious episode, with minimal laughs.

I thought the laughs were there this episode but in a whole I agree. This season seems to be focused more on the stories and not as much on the funny. Still a good season IMO and there are still plenty of laughs to keep me watching every week.

I think they have completely ruined the Angela character from where she was in the earlier seasons. I found her to be hilarious when she was ultra conservative and uptight. Now she seems too "real" to be funny and interesting anymore. Her only purpose recently was to fuel the fire between Andy and Dwight and now that's gone. I don't think they should write her off but I hope they can find a way for her to go back to being the way she was in earlier seasons.

I don't think we have seen the last of the Angela - Dwight relationship.

Best line of the show was when Andy was grillin' Angela and he asked her about missionary, and she said "nothing that fancy".

I don't think that Andy and Angela had sex. In a past episode Andy said he couldn't wait for the wedding so he could see her naked. I think he said that just to get back at Dwight, but I'm not sure if Andy is that smart.
