Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Bree clashes with Alex's mother (Joanna Cassidy) for their sons' affections; Gaby urges Carlos to take a six-figure job, even though it means spending more time away from home; Susan turns to Lee for company while Jackson is away; Lynette catches Preston talking to Porter on the phone; and Edie grows weary of Dave, whose strange behavior hasn't abated.

MadonnasManOne 01-04-09 08:56 PM

LOFL! Best line of the night went to Bob. After a drunken night in which Susan believes she has slept with Lee, Bob says, in response to Susan saying that Lee slept on the couch in the guest room, "Oh, thank God! After a few drinks, Lee will bang anything that moves and has facial hair!" Even funnier was the laughter from Gabby! That was classic! Absolute hilarity!

MrX 01-04-09 09:06 PM

I hope Warren Schilling kills all the Scavos.

WTF! My HD switched to SD for about 20 minutes starting at 9:25.

Gabby pushing Carlos to take the job even after the dinner was obnoxious and not funny, shoes or no shoes.

Good for Edie for pushing out Dave.

No Dana Delany.

DJariya 01-05-09 03:35 AM

It was an okay episode. It sucked that Dana Delany and James Denton were MIA.

I didn't really like how the Edie and Dave situation played out.

I was really disappointed in Gabby. She was starting to display some humanity and not think about herself for a change and then she pushes Carlos to take a job he doesn't want so she can go back to malls and shop again.

MadonnasManOne 01-05-09 04:37 AM

I didn't have any problem with the HD switching to SD. This is the first time I got to watch the show in HD, as I just got my HDTV a few days before Christmas! It sure looked nice!

I was REALLY annoyed with Gabby. I thought she had finally given up being so materialistic, and was actually enjoying life as a wife and mother. Apparently not.

I LOVED Edie pushing Dave out. Wouldn't you, if you were married to someone so damn creepy?

Bree just blurting out that she had bought a house for Andrew and his future husband, even though she hadn't actually bought it, was CLASSIC Bree. I loved it!

I don't know what Mr. X is on, but, why would you want the Scavos to killed?

Chew 01-05-09 06:44 AM

Gabby's laugh.

Because they are all beyond annoying?

PacMan2006 01-05-09 07:57 AM

So do you think Lynette would've really tried to kill Schilling, or was she bluffing?

A little of both, actually. I believe she certainly hoped Preston would agree to talk to Porter and convince him to come home, and she wouldn't have to run over Warren Schilling. However, I also believe that she would have killed him, had Preston not agreed. She seems dead serious about protecting her children. I wish she would have run over Warren Schilling anyway, the sick bastard. Any man who abuses a woman, or anyone else for that matter, needs to be taken out of society!

I figure when they were in the car, she was bluffing. We never even saw the guy, so she could have just driven to any random bar and said what she said.

Bandoman 01-05-09 11:13 AM

If she really intended to kill Schilling, she wouldn't have brought Preston along with her. She would have just done it, knowing that Porter would come home when he heard the news.

I disagree. Its time to bring back hot Gabby.

rotfl - That was great!

I also liked Gaby's line "I've taken care of the blind for the last 5 years, it's not that fulfulling!"

One thing I don't understand is if Preston believes that guy is going to kill Porter, wouldn't he be scared to pretend to be Porter? That doesn't make sense.

Glad to see Lynnette's hair is finally looking good again. It no longer looks like her cancer wig.

Not a fan of the Edie/Dave action. She sends him packing for not disclosing details about his life before they got married? Sounds like next ep. someone reminds Edie she was viewed as the whore of Wisteria Lane.

I had the same thought - it makes no sense at all. I've gotten to the point where I just don't care what happens with that storyline.

Yeah that was THE overreaction of the new year

Gabby's response was totally valid. They struggled for 5 years, sacrificed everything for Carlos. Now it's his turn to support his family. I agree with her.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought too. Plus there is no reason why Carlos couldn't contribute time to the blind voluntarily, not to mention cash.

I'd had issues with my ABC HD so this was the first ep I was watching in HD. I noticed the 1.33 before noticing the change in clarity.

My guess was bluffing, but I agree she could have done it

I don't know, she's been getting bad vibes about him for a long time from McCluskey etc. so maybe this was just the last straw.

The episode was pretty "meh" for me. Although I did find it funny when Gabby was laughing at Susan possibly sleeping with the gay neighbor and then throwing the box at her and Gabby saying "ow"

Is Gale Harold coming back? Or will he continue to be a voice on the phone until he's written out?

He was in a motorcycle accident a while back, which explains him being missing the last few episodes and being on the phone in this one. I'm pretty sure they said he would be back at some point.

I wouldn't miss him. His hair is too distracting.
