I saw Ronnie on The Unit (another great Shawn Ryan show) on Sunday, which was cool.

I'm depressed about this great show ending. Hate it when that happens, though it's great to know it's going to out strong. I'd be very surprised if Vic walked away untouched.

I don't remember being this excited even for the last episode of The Sopranos.

12 hours to go, betting pool time! (if someone wants to make this a poll in a thread of its own, go ahead).

Who won't make it out of tonight's episode alive? Are we going to have a massive body count like many of us are expecting, or will we be surprised when most of the cast is still standing? Give us your death list, but put any explanations behind a cut or save them until after the show has aired, please.

Your main list of potential victims:

Claudette Wyms
Corrine Mackey
Dani Sofer
David Aceveda
Dutch Wagenbach
Julien Lowe
Mara Vendrell
Ronnie Gardocki
Shane Vendrell
Steve Billings
Tina Hanlon
Vic Mackey

My guesses:

Corrine
Spoiler:
A radical pick, I know, but it makes sense when I get to my explanation about Vic. I think that the stress will finally get to her and she'll either commit suicide or she'll accidentally overdose on the meds she's been taking to calm her nerves.

Julien
Spoiler:
Tina Hanlon has been a fuck-up since day one, and it's still unresolved. I think she's going to make her worst screw-up yet, and it's going to cost Julien his life.

Tina Hanlon
Spoiler:
This one is more wishful thinking, but I hope that Tina gets herself killed. She definitely deserves it, but people don't always get what they deserve in this series.

Shane
Spoiler:
Shane will be gunned down. Logic says that Vic doesn't need to do it, but Vic can get emotional and he might try it thinking he can cover everything up as usual. He might also get killed by the cops trying to arrest him, or one of the criminals he keeps trying to rip off... in the end, Shane is stupid and it will probably cost him his life.

That's my death list. Not spectacular, I know. So why not Vic? Why won't Vic be paying for his crimes?

Spoiler:

Vic will fail to live up to his contract with I.C.E., making the deal null and void. More than likely this will be due to something Ronnie does as Ronnie will undoubtedly find out that Vic signed the deal and left him swinging - giving Ronnie incentive to set Vic up in exchange for a lighter sentence. Another option is that Vic does kill Shane and gets caught, which gives a new charge to nail him for. Either way, Vic should go to jail for life, knowing that his actions over the years have driven his wife to suicide and leaving his children without a family. The only way he dies is if he puts a gun to his head and does the job himself. There should be no happy send-off, as this show has never been about everything and everyone being happy when the dust settles.

No shit. In Canada, SHOWCASE who shows this is ONE WEEK BEHIND. So tonight we're getting 'Possible Kill Screen' and next week the finale... you bet your ass I'll find a way to see this finale ASAP...I don't think I've been this excited for a TV show in a long time. The Shield has never let me down, this season has been AMAZINGLY GOOD and from all the (non-spoiler) reviews I've read, tonight the show is going out with a bang. Stupid showcase and their delay.

(and my guesses for the death list are Claudette, Acevada, Ronnie and Shane)

I've never seen The Shield before, should I watch it tonight? or start from the beginning?

Just joking... about watching it tonight. I am one of the few who have never watched an ep. Maybe one day I will.

Maureen Ryan, Television Critic for the Chicago Tribune, calls tonight's episode "The best series finale in television history."

So chew on that until tonight...

Could it possibly be up there with the finale of Six Feet Under? We shall see!

I am recording this and may watch it a little later than it starts, if only because I don't want any family barging in and disturbing me.

Besides the pilot and the season 5 finale, my favorite moments from The Shield are:

The episode before the season 5 finale. Vic tells Kavanaugh "Your wife's pussy...tastes like sweet butter." Kavanaugh's face was priceless.

Season 4 where Glenn Close is interrogating Antwon Mitchell and makes him cry.

Season 2 when Armadillo surrenders and then Shane and Lem get him shanked in the cage. I read the thread from this episode and it appears that I'm the only one who was surprised when it happened.

The last two nights I've had dreams about this finale! Happy to report that no spoilers were revealed in either of the dreams.

I don't usually stick with shows long enough to see a finale. They often get stale and wear out their welcome. The Shield, though, is just as good now as it was the day Vic shot Terry. Can't wait for tonight, but it will be missed.

Man I am so pumped, yet sad at the same time. Lot of build up....and I'll be watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and The Mentalist before this, so it'll ease me into it.

Last week, Tivo had this episode at 90 minutes, now it's at 105 minutes. Bonus! I padded just in case though. I'll start about 45 minutes late so I can skip commercials. Can't freaking wait - this is more anticipated for me than any theatrical movie, recently, anyways...

I think we should all take an oath right now to not post during the show. You've got to allow yourself to take it all in and savor these final glorious moments we have with THE SHIELD.

Wow. That was pretty messed-up right there. Didnt think Shane would be that Evil.
Andre Benjamin is giving a pretty good performance tonight.
