Hilary Duff series in the works for NBC

Hilary Duff will soon become a fixture on NBC. The former Lizzie McGuire has signed a talent and development deal with NBC. The network said it will come up with a new series for Duff to star in, though it offered no details on what that might be. In addition, the network said Friday that Duff will appear as a guest in several other NBC series over the next year, but there were no details. Interesting. If she can garnish even a fraction of her Lizzie McGuire fans grown-up, this could be a successful series. Meanwhile, we may see her on The Office, 30 Rock or Knight Rider. :P |
At least she's not showing the new chompers in that picture.

She should guest star on Heroes and kill off all the dead weight characters.

She was supposed to get a show on CBS a few years ago, after the "Lizzie McGuire in high school" ABC show fell through... I'll believe it when I see it.

Looks like Duff's project will be called "Barely Legal," a comedy about a young lawyer.
NBC's talent deal with Hilary Duff has borne some fruit, as she's set to star in a comedy project at the network. Duff has taken the lead role in a show called "Barely Legal," a show about an 18-year-old who passes the California bar exam and becomes the state's youngest attorney. The show is based on the true story of Kathleen Holtz, who passed the bar in 2007. The project currently has a script commitment, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Elisa Bell ("Vegas Vacation," "Little Black Book") is writing the project, and actor Rob Morrow ( "Numb3rs") is executive producing through his company Bits and Pieces Productions. Duff signed a talent deal with NBC in November. "Barely Legal" would be her first starring role in a prime-time series, although she's guested on shows like "Frasier" and "Joan of Arcadia" in the past. The show is the second project about a young female lawyer on NBC's development slate this year. The network also has "Legally Mad," a David E. Kelley dramedy about a law-school grad (Charity Wakefield) who joins her father's firm. |
