The Amazing Race 13 -- "My Nose Is On Fire" -- 11/9/08

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

One racer conducts an overly-thorough, squirm-inducing search for a clue in a bird's home. A strict Indian shopkeeper leaves one team teary eyed with a crushing Detour. A colorful Roadblock is no party for one racer when they face plant into the ground and two unlikely teams join forces to crack a Detour that confounds teams who work alone.

So no delay today? Previews show it to be a good episode.

leeta 11-09-08 05:58 PM

I don't know what markets will experience delays, but I know I'll be in one of the unlucky ones. The Colts and the Steelers are in the 4th quarter with about 6 and a half minutes to go and it's already almost 7pm.

OldDude 11-09-08 06:32 PM

In Detroit, 60 Minutes started at 7:26 vs 7:00 PM, so expect everything 0:26 behind, and pad accordingly.

Hey, at least their ticking clock is worth watching.

LorenzoL 11-09-08 07:15 PM

Where's Red Dog when you need him?

cdollaz 11-09-08 08:13 PM

This episode isn't even over and it's one of the best ever. The bimbos are so stupid.

cdollaz 11-09-08 08:22 PM

AWESOME!!! Suck it, bitches.

As dorky as the frat boys are, I think Terence/Sarah are bigger nerds than them.

leeta 11-09-08 09:05 PM

I just knew when the spoiler said that one racer conducts an overly-thorough, squirm-inducing search for a clue in a bird's home, that it had to be either Terrence or Sarah. She needs to quit listening to him.

Another classic Terrence moment, "look at my tongue." Fits right in with "touch my forehead."

I actually felt kinda sorry for the divorcees during the paint throwing tonight. But, WOW were they dumb. Happy with the end result, though. ;)

zuffy 11-09-08 09:19 PM

I love this episode. Just seeing that bitch run back and forth and getting hit with paints and then fall face first was awesome.

chowderhead 11-09-08 09:29 PM

The Divorcees did finally figure out the tags on the power lines that they were looking for. Had Ken and Tina not helped Dandrew find the tags, the frat boys probably would have been gone. It was really random luck.

Mok 11-09-08 09:46 PM

I love Terence/Sarah

Terence - Who's My Girl ?
Sarah - You are.
Sarah - oh I am.

Yeah, the Divorcees are going to hate it when they get home and find out they were kicked out because Ken and Tina decided to help Dandrew. I really don't think if they'd had help, they would have beaten them.

zuffy 11-09-08 10:31 PM

This show requires a lot of lucks. If Ken and Tina didn't get screwed by the taxis so badly last week, they wouldn't have been last. It's part of the game.

I didnt catch that

My favorite line was Andrew saying "When you're sweet dudes like us, everyone wants to help you" after Tina helped them with the power lines.

Ranger 11-09-08 11:33 PM

I liked the bimbos. :(

BDB 11-10-08 12:21 AM

I did two, they weren't that bad.

Starr looked thinner this week!

I'd like to see Dallas and Toni win. They are a very good team.

mwbmis 11-10-08 12:35 AM

I don't know that I would call them bimbos, but I liked them too. I liked how last week they made specific mention of the clothes they were wearing, but this week all the women were wearing similar clothing.

I think the editing of the show went out of there way to try to portray them as the "bitchy" team. I thought it was pretty funny tonight when they were deciding which of Dandrew to make out with. One thing is certain though...they didn't read the clues well enough.

Anybody who has watched this show and competes should know by now: read the clue twice, if not three times. Somebody always misses something.

I did quite chuckle at Sara inside the Pigeon area. Of course she would be the one to be in there, not Terence.

Has there been a season where they haven't gone to India yet?

Family edition!

I felt sorry for the contestants at the paint throwing thing. A lot of what those people were doing just seemed mean spirited. I was hoping one of the racers would give some of those guys a forearm shiver. Ken should have put his football skills to use on that one.

I saw Terence give a shove to someone on the way out. I think someone else did as well. I think the key was running to the open areas to get around them and running by when their backs were turned. The bimbo ran right thru the gauntlet and got plastered.

zuffy 11-10-08 10:42 AM

It's a pretty stupid annual celebration imo. Throwing color powder and shooting paint on people's face?

I thought the same thing, especially when they are smacking you in the face with it on the way out. It seemed more like a hazing than a celebration.

It was a strange leg in that with no flights, travel seemed to be a non-factor (with the exception of traffic congestion) and the entire leg was task-oriented. Despite this, there were plenty of opportunities for the order to change. I really enjoyed this, and it made Ken & Tina's jump from last place with a speed bump penalty to 4th place that much more impressive.
