Tara went into the pharmacy to get some antacid for her mother.

She then recognized the woman working in there as the voodoo lady, figured out that she was a con artist, and flipped her shit.

It's just a big coincidence that she happened to go into that particular pharmacy when the woman was working there.

I don't really think it was anger at all. It was more like concern to help her mom out - she was just rushing in trying to get the Pepto and then she recognizes the woman - then she does the 180. I, like many, am growing fonder and fonder of Tara (couldn't stand her in the pilot).

Zeljko Ivanek! Awesome.

This show gets better and better with each episode.

The tension of the "Making" was ramped up with Ivanek's appearance.

So who is killing all those women? We finally get a glimpse of the perp.

I really hope there is some pay-off to Tara's subplot because it's a serious drag on the show.

I bet Jason never thought Amy would stake the vamp (nasty icky "death" on the stakeage).

Yes, another EXCELLENT episode!! Ivanek was fabulous as the magistrate, though I was more interested in the non-vampiric elements of the show - I like the weird almost David Lynchian-moment with the naked woman & pig on the road.

Why does it have to be in the woods?
Why does it have to be before dawn?
Why $799.95? Why? Why? Why?

Ipecac/Peyote exorcised Tara, screwed-again drunken Tara ("At least he doesn't drink my blood" )

RIP Eddie (again). I hope psycho-hippie becomes one of the serial killer's last victims.

Damn I wanted to know how they turn them this week. So is the first season supposed to be the complete first book? It seems like it would be a short book.

I love how Jason gets some guignol all over his hands and has to flick it off like a gigantic booger.

I'm guessing those rubberized innards weren't supposed to show up on camera like that but the scene worked somehow anyway.

The vamp trial went on too long. It just seemed t0o big and over-blown w/ the crowd, etc.

Amy is one wicked piece of work. She's been a great addition...

the basic plot (someone killing the people of bon temps) is from the book, but pretty much everything else shown on the series is made-up.

Didn't they show it already during the flashback of Bill getting turned? She dripped her blood into his mouth, unless it is more involved than that.

Agreed, although I knew her from Swimming With Sharks before I saw the late TNG stuff.

I most fondly remember her tumbling down the stairs on 24.

Is that it? I thought it was going to be more than that but they didn't reveal it.

Ahhh I didn't recognize her real name. Yeah she is Ensign Ro to me also but for awhile she was Admiral Cain for awhile also.

I think it's more involved. Let's not forget that Sookie drank Bill's blood, and he drank her blood as well, and she's not a vampire.

In a lot of vampire literature, for a vampire to turn somebody they have to drain them to the point of near death, and then allow that person to feed off them. In essence a full blood transfusion/transformation.

I am shock. No female nudity in this episode.

The vampire trial thing was silly though. The setting was bad too. WTF? Why have the trial in a car junkyard? Should be in cave or something.

I somehow must have missed that scene, could someone recap?

The last flashback I remember was the one where he ran away and turned in to the dog while running, was there another scene after that?

after that he came back home, presumablly the next day and found the house empty, family and belongings, except for his room, it was untouched.

I think it was when he came home from school one day, because he came home on his bike with clothes on and his backpack.

I don't know if they could have found a better choice for the Magister than Zeljko Ivanek

This show always gets dragged down by the "hip Vampire bullshit" that I will hence refer to as HVBS.

As a poster previously said, the vamps watching the trial and hissing and getting their fangs out is HVBS. Vampires believing humans are lesser beings and only live to serve is HVBS.

Vampires being all black leather and lace and being sexed up all the time is HVBS. Going by True Blood and basically every other vampire story on film I don't see how a vampire has time to hunt or feed seeing as how they must dress up in black, listen to heavy metal, and play with themselves all day.
