Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is confirmed to be on the show.

Good to know you're doing your part to keep discourse in American politics civil.

Don't worry, the Secret Service is probably on the ball and Max has already been deemed a security threat.

Ronnie Dobbs 10-18-08 10:39 PM

Umm Palin was not funny. Wahlberg was funnier.

Double_Oh_7 10-18-08 10:40 PM

Well, that could have been a whole lot better. Disappointing.

Ronnie Dobbs 10-18-08 10:41 PM

brolin is the least interesting celebrity in hollywood

Adboy151 10-18-08 10:41 PM

Wahlberg definitely was the highlight.

MrX 10-18-08 10:46 PM

Brolin's monologue was just painful to watch.

Double_Oh_7 10-18-08 10:47 PM

God this show sucks. I'm going to bed.

cactusoly 10-18-08 10:49 PM

what was wrong with the right side of Tina Fey's mouth? I never noticed that before

She's had a scar there since childhood. She refuses to talk about how it occured.

Ronnie Dobbs 10-18-08 10:53 PM

who was the best SNL politico host/cameo? Nader and Al Gore were pretty good i think

Brent L 10-18-08 10:56 PM

If you ask me, Kristin Wigg has gotta be the most talented SNL cast member given the worst material of all time.

This show has been horrible since the cold opening. The monologue was too heavy handed, and these first two sketches have been like nails on a chalkboard to me.

Not to mention the fact that Brolin chose not to wear a belt with the suit he wore in the monologue.

Tsk tsk.

(Oh, and yes, the show is terrible.)

Snowmaker 10-18-08 10:59 PM

Now that was classic with Marky Mark

TheBigDave 10-18-08 11:03 PM

Man, this stuff is horrible.

I watched almost every episode of this show for 20+ years. I stopped about 1-2 years ago when I thought it had reached the bottom. But this is so much worse.

Someone needs to take this show out back and put it out of it's misery.

Brent L 10-18-08 11:27 PM

+1

Say this for Amy Poehler, when she goes for it, she goes all out.

Brent L 10-18-08 11:38 PM

That was just about my favorite thing on SNL in a very long time.

stingermck 10-18-08 11:54 PM

If Palin wouldve sang that song, I wouldve passed out from laughter

Brent L 10-18-08 11:56 PM

True, but seeing her "raise the roof" as Amy performed it was still pretty good.

OldBoy 10-19-08 12:32 AM

the whole opening wit Palin was a wasted effort. i would have liked to see something like Amy's Hillary and Hillary together at the same time. this was weak and they just totally made her look like an ass, which i am all for, but at least do it in a funny way. for some reason this just seemed mean.

why can't the show at least go back to the beginning and rewrite skits from the classic shows. they do it in movies all the time. just go back to what was funny and do a fresh take because coming up with the new stuff is NOT WORKING!

Goat3001 10-19-08 12:47 AM

The opening was good. Not incredibly funny but it was cool having Palin, Wahlberg and Alec Baldwin.

Then the skits were atrocious. I like Brolin but man he does not bring the funny. Mark Wahlberg was good and so was Weekend Update.
