I watched this last night (Amazon Unbox download to my TiVo). Not a bad start ... it was pretty entertaining. The technical stuff was a bit hokey, but other than that I have no complaints. I'll hold any specific comments until after it airs.

I'll watch, but considering the track record of this timeslot I am not holding my hopes that this will do well ratings-wise.

Ow, my head hurt trying to keep the 2 personas straight (probably because it's really late in the evening).

Ah not bad.. Mostly because I like Christian Slater as an actor..

I'll watch some more eps.. Just need to shut off the part of brain that keeps asking why they even have this super involved mind wiping set up for no good reason. I mean the "spy" side still has all the stuff in town that would get him caught as a spy, the nice guy side has a real family (vs a gov set up front) and so on.. no no no no must not listen to that logical crap! Just focus on random blowing up of stuff!

It's pretty much True Lies meets Total Recall.. but I'll tune in again..

Maybe this will help you out DeadLamb: Edward is really the manufactured persona.

Because you are right, manufacturing a Henry persona makes no sense.

Not as bad as I was expecting it to be. There was some decent action. However, it got really confusing trying to keep up with which personality was Edward and which was Henry.

wmansir: I thought Henry was the fake personality? Alfre Woodard said that Edward was born in 1969 and Henry was born only 19 years ago, plus there was all those pictures of Edward in the military and a certificate dated in 1989.

Considering all the production problems I have read about this show and the pilot being re-shot after they re-casted the wife with Madchen Amick, I think the producers did a good job.

Edward being fake is just my theory, because it makes a lot more sense.

Henry joined the CIA or whatever. They implanted the super spy Edward persona and then erased Henry's memory of joining the agency. They setup the Henry persona with a job at the front company to keep an eye on him. Since Edward has to know about the setup they tell him he is the original, and provide fake documents. When Henry finds out about it they tell him he is the fake to keep him under control.

The alternative is that Edward is a superspy that they don't trust not to let it slip at the PTA meetings. And somehow this Henry persona is suppose to keep him safer even though they have him working out of a CIA front company surrounded by other spies.

I really liked this one. It did start to get a little confusing (then again I was falling asleep a bit), but this one would be a winner if it wasn't in a bad time slot.

Also on the list of pluses, Madchen Amick is hot again. She looked like she lost it in "Freddie" but wow she was smoking hot in this one. TV wives kick ass.

Actually it does. As the Russian implied, Henry makes (made) Edward impossible to find.

Yeah, the whole premise of fake Henry being created makes no sense. What does clueless family-man Henry do if his cover is blown and he has no idea how to get himself out of the situation? Why have a split personality in the first place? Why not just set Edward up with a false identity? (It's not like he has to go to Mars and fool Kuato or something.)

And why does it have to be some unbelievable sci-fi memory erasing chip? Why can't it be something that requires less suspension of disbelief? (Like a good old-fashioned brainwashing where a command triggers the different personas to activate - kind of like hypnosis. Or maybe he's received a head injury where he now switches back and forth between his true persona and his cover, not realizing he's one and the same.)

I did enjoy it however.

No, I'm pretty sure he was Henry then. The reason he knew what to do (lead the men to the dessert, blow up the gps unit) was because Edward left him a video telling him what to do.

Because then we wouldn't get that awesome "Here, let's go into the white room and put this fishbowl on your head to erase your memory" scene.

Yeah, that was my only real problem with it. Hopefully they won't keep going back to their supercomputer and I can forget it ever happened.

I enjoyed it as well as I like Christian Slater. It wasn't a ratings winner but nothing in that timeslot on NBC ever is.

If Edward is supposedly dead according to the news clipping found in the condo; who owns the condo? He obviously couldn't buy it under that name. Does he have another identity besides Henry? Who's name is the Camaro registered under?

I'm going to watch a few more ep. to see where it's going even though it feels sort of like a True Lies rip off.
