"Little Britain USA" Season Premiere

Anyone? Thoughts??

I laughed the whole time. It's just as good as the original series. And the critical reviews have been quite positive.

I liked it. Nothing too hilarious but it's only the first ep. I'd grown tired of the UK show by the middle of series two, but enough time has passed that I enjoyed seeing some of these characters again. it's great that Matt and Dave actually came back for this instead of getting new actors like The Office. Looking forward to Vicky Pollard next week.

How many episodes are there supposed to be? I have no doubt that people will start to complain about how many times characters are used. It was a problem with the UK shows, and depending on how many episodes there are, it will probably be a problem here as well.

I'll definitely keep watching, but I really wish that they would have dumped some of these characters for the American version and made a more original version of Little Britain for the States. That being said, I really enjoyed the Fat Fighters sketch with Rosie; that one cracked me up more than it usually does.

I've never watched the british version, is it essentially the same show and sketches, just set in america? Also the bit at the end with the big muscular guys with tiny dicks had me on the floor laughing. I also noticed that David Schwimmer directed the live studio sketches.

I'm sure someone will fill in any blanks that I may have missed for this first ep:

"Computer say no" woman
Lou and Andy (guys at beginning, the one in wheelchair)
Fat Fighters (at least the head of it)

Based on the opening credits and just from what little I have heard or seen, there are at least 3 others who will make appearances: Bubbles, Vicky and Daffyd. But I don't remember the opening credits all that well so I'm sure I'm missing some from there.

I think they needed a few more penis jokes

Spoiler:
Bubbles, David and Vicky weren't in this episode. There was two body builders with tiny penises and a southern cop who got erect every time he picked up a gun. Also an asshole ex astronaut talking to cub scouts and a foul mouthed kid going away to summer camp. Lots of penis jokes.

Heard a lot of hype about the British version, but was mostly disappointed. Gross, yes. Funny, not so much.

Gross? Not funny?
Could be the British humor. Some people just don't get it.

I grew tired of the UK version by the time I started season 3 (didn't finish it) but I thought this was pretty damn funny - mostly the new characters. The dude with the guns was disgusting but fucking funny.

That's not it at all, I get British humor plenty. In fact, that's probably one of the reasons I was even more disappointed by it. That, and compared to the hype I just didn't find this all that funny...or all that British. For me too much of it felt like a Johnny Knoxville/Steve O version of The League of Gentlemen. But I'll keep watching for now. Maybe it will grow on me.

it was filmed in front of a studio audience, so the laughter is legit.

The show did evolve from being witty and irreverent to cheap bodily function humor by the 3rd season. Season 1 is still the best.

Several scenes were filmed on-location (the pool, the bus, the sheriff)...that's where the laugh track stands out. The studio audience stuff (like Fat Fighters) was the best (and most authentic).
