Yeah I'm sure her new college buddy was just a red herring. I see Pam and Jim's relationship as the core of the show, the one normal thing to hold onto to keep the show somewhat grounded in reality.

Well, I hope you guys are right about the red herring. I'm saving a link to this thread for a bittersweet "I told you so," though. ;)

Hold onto that dread. They've got Pam giggling and sharing inside jokes with her new friend at school, and Jim set up to become the intruding fiance. Rich Sommer looking like a younger Roy is not a good sign, either. We're in for a very bumpy ride.
They were only showing that Pam is making friends. |

You have noticed the majority of this thread's praise for it, right? Seems odd that you disliked it... especially being such a big fan. I thought it was nearly flawless... especially for an hour episode. Great pacing.
Gotta keep you guys on your toes! Chris |

I wonder how much more we'll see of Pam away at school. She's only gone for the summer, which was largely covered in this episode. I don't think that separation is going to last. She'll be back in Scranton pretty quickly. |

I know Jan is already pregnant, but is there any chance Angela might be pregnant, too? The office weigh-in amount kept going up even though everyone was supposed to be dieting and she has been sleeping around with Dwight. It would make for an interesting surprise since it sounds like Andy and her haven't slept together yet.

I read somewhere that they want to cover Pam at school as much as they did Jim while he was at the other branch, which would seem to be a fair amount.
