Honestly, Bell's character isn't all that interesting. I love seeing her, but I think I'd prefer to see her elsewhere because I think she can be so much better than this.
I don't understand the bad acting complaint. I can only venture that perhaps much of the rest of the acting is so bad it rubs off in the eyes of some.

I still watch... but at this point the fucking writers will just do whatever they want, explain it by magic, time travel, or just not even bother explaining it. It's a show with no actual drama -- there's no danger. No one can die and even when they "save the world" it doesn't mean anything two episodes later.
Ugh.

1) Does anyone actually ever die for real on this show? Pretty sure Linderman's supposed to be dead for real. Now he's alive, AND he's invisible? What? And he's real b/c he brought Nathan back to life.
2) Claire tells Peter at the start of the first episode, "Sorry Peter. I've always loved you." She does know that he's her biologic uncle, right? Or did the writers just forget that and got mixed up with them dating in real life?

It was nice seeing the Veronica Mars reunion with Francis Capra, though. Wonder what other alumni of that show they may try and bring in?
Lastly, with all the other obvious film references/homages (Halloween, The Fly) and former Sci-Fi/Action show alumni - we're eight pages in, and no one else even mentions Bruce Boxleitner (John Sheridan on Babylon 5) yet? Guess I was the only one to catch that one.

2. There are other kinds of love other than romantic. It's been shown that Peter and Claire have had a bond since S1, and had obviously grown closer during the years leading up to the future.

The 1 hour recap was a total waste of time. I guess it was suppose to serve as an introduction to new viewers this season.
As for the premiere, I wasn't crazy about hour 1. For something that is supposed to be your big season premiere, it moved like a snail on my front lawn. The pacing was sluggish and there wasn't nothing about it that made it special. It felt like an oridinary episode that would have aired in October or February.
Hour 2 was much better. I liked the introduction of the evil villains and I also enjoyed Hiro and Ando's exploits. I'm not sure where they are going with Peter being trapped in Francis Capra's body.
Can someone refresh my memory, how did Noah end up in Level 5? Was it after he was shot by Mohinder last season and revived?
The Mohinder storyline is really weird. I did think Maya looked really hot in both episodes and was screaming to get laid.
So Niki survives the explosion last season and now has amnesia?
Overall, a decent , but not great premiere.
I would give it a B-

I don't even try to understand this show anymore. I watch it for the few good bits here and there but on the whole....
Can someone please explain exactly what the whole arc was in Season 1 about "Save the Cheerleader, save the world". Looking back, what difference did it make one way or another, even to its own season? How did saving Claire have any effect on Peter becoming the exploding man? And its even less meaningful now that Sylar has gone ahead and got her powers. And what was up with his line, "I can't kill you, even if I wanted to."

The idea behind saving Claire meant that Sylar could never become invincible and therefore never lead the world to the hell it was that produced Future Hiro. Since Sylar doesn't have the reserve of powers, he can't be as effective- or something.
Now, my head is envisioning Seth Greene from Austin Powers saying, "I've got a gun. We can kill him. We can do it together."
Since no one wants to kill Sylar, is it too much to ask for a psychotic baboon on Viagra to shag him to death?

Nikki wise, I was just thinking that they had Ali Larter under contrat for this season and saw how everyone hated Nikki, so they came up with a new character for her to play. Her new character seems to have too much backstory/history to have just been an alter ego completely seperate from Nikki/Jessicas old life. And any other explanation is even stupider than having her just play a different person.

Prison Break is so exciting
they escape from a new prison every year
big deal.
I bet if Heroes was on FOX or CBS everybody would stop bashing it.
I don't get why you have to kill off some of the major characters to make it a legitimate show?
They should just concentrate on the major characters from season 1.
I liked the first episode and I want to see how the story progresses.

I'm rather surprised by a lot of negative feedback on this. Overall I thought it was better than most of S2. Also, a lot of the criticism seems unfounded since this is a fantasy/sci-fi/comic book centered show.
As for what I enjoyed:
-- Sylar being back to a badass. I really enjoyed his conversation with Claire.
-- Claire's story. I think it will be interesting to see how she deals with what Sylar told her. Also, it's like she was raped, but wasn't. I liked the video tape callback to S1.
-- Desert man. What is his name? It's like he's the new Issac, but based on Dr. S's discoveries, it sound like he'll be similar but different.
-- Parkman. More of a tease right now, but much better than the dad/Molly story last year.
-- Hiro/Ando. What's not to like? Very good casting on the new Flash as well. She has good interaction with them.
-- Nathan's story with an old friend is very interesting.
-- Peter stuck with the group of villians is interesting. He feels forced to go along in order to survive.
-- God and/or Linderman. It should be very interesting to see where this goes. I think his power goes well beyond healing. Recall last season when Peter met (?) with the old guy he was giving aid to when he travelled to the past.
What I disliked:
-- Niki or whatever her name is. If it's her sister and she actually died last year, then that's kinda cool. I guess the thing that bugs me is the attitude. Get over yourself.
-- Mohninder. I was hoping he'd go the HRG route, but apparently he's gone the stupid route. "Maya, why can't you see how great this is?!" Why can't you Mohinder?!...
Overall, I think the good storylines outweigh the bad storylines. Add me to the boat who wonder if Peter ever goes to find Irish girl. Maybe she's stuck and you can never get back to that future since the present was changed. Sort of a point of no return.
I also think it will be cool if Adam/Kensei digs himself out sometime in the future, AFTER the 'event'.

Watched these last night... yeah, no.
I liked Bell on Mars and in Reefer Madness and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but she adds nothing here.

Around here K. Bell seems to be the least liked character, yet she has the coolest power.

As far as the bashing of Kirsten Bell, there's a validity to it. She was great in Veronica Mars and got quite a fan following. If you watched VM, you probably love her--how could you not?! But in Heroes, she's been given a very inconsequential part, and little ability to act. I LOVE Kirsten Bell, and wish they'd either develop her character or cut her all together. The writing for her at this point does nothing for the show or her career.

I don't get this love fest for K Bell. I am not a fan - I think her acting (or the writing for her character sucks).
The writers need to weed down these "heroes"
I'm sure next week we will be graced with 20 minutes of Mica and New Orleans Girl.

I thought both episodes were highly medicore at best. I almost dropped the show last year, think i'll give it up until episode 6...then I'll have to leave.

As it stands though, her character is underdeveloped and she hasn't had much to do so it's understandable that the acting is still subpar. She hasn't had enough material to get comfortable playing the role or even establish who Elle really is.

Don't judge me!
This is exactly what's going on. I hadn't seen VM last season and didn't get the lovefest when she showed up on Heroes either. Her character on Heroes was dull and the acting was suspect. Since then I've watched all three seasons of VM and now I'm almost to season 3 again. I completely understand the lovefest now and am onboard the Kristen Bell love train.

Decent opener, I'll give the show some more time before additional praising or hating.
I think people are excited that a long time ago, Elle and the new sound manipulation villain used to be friends.

I think the Mohinder portion sucked some serious ass. It didn't feel right and he definitely deserved what he got due to his ego. I've no sympathy for that character (at least not yet). It just seemed out of place.

I find myself irritated by the lack of character development from Hiro.
Dig this... for the first time in his life, he earned his father's respect. Then he goes back in time, does something self-serving that gets his father -- with whom he finally mended his relationship -- murdered.
Now what does he do? Sits around in his father's office whining about how bored he is. Then he gets a message from his dead father about the dangerous formula in the safe.
So what does Hiro do? He disregards the wishes of his father and goes into the safe, doing the self-serving thing and putting the world in danger.
Seriously, the guy's a first-class ****.

And speaking of gaping plot holes, this one has bothered me since the second season.
Remember Atomic Ted? The guy with the unstable nuclear powers who gave off radiation? The one who could barely keep himself from exploding? The one who gave his powers to Peter and had them taken by Sylar? The same powers that almost caused Peter to nuke New York City?
Presumably, Peter and Sylar still have those powers. Though we never see Peter start to reach critical mass, or use those powers. Or Sylar, either.
And what about Sylar's "super hearing" that nearly crippled him? Seems to be managing that okay. I would think that, since Mohinder knew about those powers, that some kind of sonic device would be an effective weapon against him.
