As slop101 said, you'd have to watch Veronica Mars to understand the "obsession". VM was the perfect role for her.

I've seen Veronica Mars. Spoilerizing my comments since it's likely to induce a heart attack in some of the regulars here:

Spoiler:
Least convincing "high school student" since the original 90210.

Prison Break is so exciting

they escape from a new prison every year

big deal.

I bet if Heroes was on FOX or CBS everybody would stop bashing it.

I don't get why you have to kill off some of the major characters to make it a legitimate show?

They should just concentrate on the major characters from season 1.

I liked the first episode and I want to see how the story progresses.
HUH

- Why would it matter what channel it was on?
- You have to kill off major characters to keep the show exciting and tension filled. Knowing that nobody can die ruins any tension in the show.
- Even though I love it, there are many people who bash prison break as well.

I assumed Peter used those atomic powers in the second season finale when he cupped his hands around the vial and disintegrated it.

I don't think anyone is saying this. (At least, I'm not.)

But the writers are trying to have their cake and eat it too. They *are* killing off major characters. They've done it about a dozen times so far. And they keep bringing them back. How many times have they done the "Surprise -- I'm not really dead!" thing?

That sucks all drama out of the show. No one can die and when they do, I assume they'll come back. Coupled with the completely random nature of when/how they can use their powers, they can basically create scripts at random. And it feels like they do.

In S2, didn't Adam/Kensei give Nathan some of his blood when he was in the hospital? If I remember right, that's how Nathan's burns from the explosion healed, so presumably, that's how he was able to heal from the assassination attempt.

Anyway, I finally got a chance to watch the episodes last night. I have to say, I don't understand all the hate. I thought they were pretty solid. Then again, I also didn't hate S2 as much as most of the people around here. Parts I didn't like would have to be Nathan finding religion and Mohinder being an idiot.

Remember Atomic Ted? The guy with the unstable nuclear powers who gave off radiation? The one who could barely keep himself from exploding? The one who gave his powers to Peter and had them taken by Sylar? The same powers that almost caused Peter to nuke New York City?

Presumably, Peter and Sylar still have those powers. Though we never see Peter start to reach critical mass, or use those powers. Or Sylar, either.

And what about Sylar's "super hearing" that nearly crippled him? Seems to be managing that okay. I would think that, since Mohinder knew about those powers, that some kind of sonic device would be an effective weapon against him.
Since Sylar's ability is to "Figure out how things work", then it most likely explains how he is able to control his powers. I guess this applies to Peter as well (since he obviously absorbed Sylar's ability during their first encounter).

Now since Pete is pretty much an atomic sponge, does he absorb all the abilities from his encounter with Future Peter?

I guess that would pretty much make him God now.

"K Street Ice Queen"

That's what the reporter called her before she actually turned into an Ice Queen!

Lame as fuck.

Well that's a mindfuck.

Technically, you're right in that he should absorb Sylar's power. That's not really necessary though, but I guess it might be in the future?

And about the Peter absorbing Peter's abilities....yeah, I give up.

Now, my head is envisioning Seth Greene from Austin Powers saying, "I've got a gun. We can kill him. We can do it together."
Since no one wants to kill Sylar, is it too much to ask for a psychotic baboon on Viagra to shag him to death?
I think it goes beyond this, and I don't think time travel is just a reset button for the writers.

Hiro thought Claire was the key. He was wrong, at least to some degree, because it was Peter who blew up, not Sylar. But, without Claire's powers, it made Sylar vulnerable. It's just they didn't succeed in killing him. Hiro had a complicated timeline and now future Peter is repeating the same process, trying to find some key, single event that changes the future for the better.

But the one thing I've taken away from the time travel, and Ma Petrelli references this, is that the future always has something wrong. Nothing to date has saved them from a miserable future -- not Hiro time travelling back, not Peter time travelling forward, not Peter time travelling back and not Isaac or Ma knowing the future. Hiro always talks about destiny, but maybe all of their destinies are to face a disaster in the future, whether it's a plague, a nuclear man, whatever.

Truth is though, even the old "heroes" tried to manipulate the future (and still are), and failed. At least some of them realized that it may be their destiny to face something like a nuclear man exploding. The young heroes are unwilling to accept that and keep meddling, to unsuccessful results.

pretty good start to the 3rd season after a boring season as many others have said.

i don't know about you guys (probably since i didn't read through all 9 pages of thread), but i am getting pretty tired of sylar just absorbing all these people's powers. i understand that this is part of the draw of the villian but at some point, enough is enough and i'm tired of him taking everyone else's power.

Sylar's power is knowing how to deal with everyone's power. That was supposed to be the major difference between him and Peter.

I'm loving the show. However, I do think Sylar and Peter are way to powerful. They are Superman walking around with a bunch of Robins. I get the feeling this is going end up like The Matrix.

So exactly what did Sylar do to obtain her power?

Suddenly I like Maya this season. The implants look good. If she gets her shirt ripped off every episode, she could easily become my favorite character.

Yea i dont mind her if shes half naked each time shes on. I didnt start watching this show until about 4 episodes left in season 2. With that said i thought these first 2 where pretty darn good comared to what I have seen so far. Im a little bit confused on the show since I missed A lot of episodes but I'm going to try to catch up by purchasing S1 and S2. K Bell doesnt bother me to much, I find claire much more annoying then she is.

Yeah, but didn't he also smear some of her blood on his chest wound causing it to heal?

No, he just looked at his wound and watched it heal after he "learned" her power.

And any other explanation is even stupider than having her just play a different person.
I'm curious to see how this plays out as well. I think they were being truthful when they kept repeating that she was not Nikki Sanders. My personal pet theory is that she is the real Jessica.

We know that Nikki had a sister named Jessica, and that something serious had happened when they were both children. It was never stated, but it would be entirely possible that they were twin sisters. Nikki obviously believed that Jessica was dead, but we may have a scenario where Jessica did not die, but instead was 'taken away' and grew up as Tracy. She would not be aware of Nikki, and Nikki would think Jessica was dead.

Assuming that is the case, that leaves us with where Nikki is. I guess she is either still buried under the remains of that house, or maybe in a hospital somewhere. Also begs the question of where Micah is.

How many characters have now "died" only to return from the dead?

Nikki/Jessica/Tracy
Nathan
Peter
Claire
Sylar
Noah
Linderman?

Who am I missing?

As a comic book reader who sees dead characters brought to life all the time, this complaining is very funny to me.

I mean shit, DC just brought back Barry "The Flash" Allen.
