So, what's killing the show for those of you who aren't enjoying it? Is the show trying becoming a serious adult drama just not working for you? It's actually continuing to do really well this season and has higher ratings than Gossip Girl. Is the show taking itself way too seriously?
Sounds to me like Red Dog is just begging for an excuse to drop it.

Unless they go back to the fun OTH that I found very entertaining, I might drop it when the timeslot starts filling up with new episodes of shows from the competing networks. I already dropped Prison Break.

I'm not as down on the show as you are. I know in the High School years there were alot of fun episodes that didn't take itself too seriously. But, I know what Mark Schwahn is trying to do with this new incarnation of the show and making it geared towards an adult audience. I mean there is still some fun characters like Skills or even Mouth, but the show is not a comedy.

Holy crap, tonight's episode got to me, it pulled all the right strings, but without it being overly-manipulative. It even brought forth a reasonable catalyst for Psycho Carrie's obsession with Jamie. That scene between Jamie and Brandon in the front yard just hit the right notes, in fact, all of Jamie's scenes were right on the money. I'll alway wonder if Sam Walker plagiarized her way through her essay on Q and the wake he left behind.

Of course that's what he's trying to do - it makes zero sense, and it ain't working (judging that most everyone in these threads has been negative about the direction of the show going back to last season). It doesn't make much sense to change a soap 5 years into its run to try to reach some new audience that isn't going to start in watching S5 or S6 of a primetime soap.
And I rather see Rachel make a triumphant return. Still over them dumping her character after S4.
This episode was what I expected, although I like how they moved the Skillz/GILF storyline forward. Pretty much lost my attention to the football game on my other screen.

Even though it was another dark and depressing episode, I actually really liked it.
I agree with Patman that the scene with Brandon and Jamie was really well done.
Looking forward to Brooke's showdown with the Bitch.

I actually put off on watching it because I kinda knew what the ep. would be, all depressing and whatnot, but.. I enjoyed it. Well, that might not be the word I'm looking for. It was better than expected.
..and damn Brooke looks hot all beaten and bruised. Sorry, somebody hasta say it.
