I thought it was pretty apparent that Sam's parents got immortality in exchange for raising Sam(who is the devil's son). I'm not sure where people are getting that they are demons from. They've obviously retooled the show from the original concept though.

But then that would mean the contract is phony, and the phony contract had pages purposefully ripped out.

I suppose it's possible though, as a way to throw off Sam. I'm sure they knew he would eventually want to look at the contract.

The whole horns thing is kind of wierd because it seems that only Sam and others who "know" of Demons can see them.

Huh? No.

All the female demons we've seen on the show have had bangs, presumably to try and cover them up.

Somewhat similar to "Clark Kent glasses".

Maybe it's just his dad that is immortal - his health was the reason they signed the contract in the first place, iirc.

Nice finale.

This show puts me in a good mood.

Yeah, it doesn't seem very effective.

Dolores, for example, does fix her bangs every once in a while, though.

I'll throw my vote towards Sam not being the son of the Devil. And Sock is really growing on me.

Some passing thoughts as I read this thread:
Steve is an angel because he tried to defeat the devil with love. It's not clear if Sam has powers or not (given earlier episodes, I vote NOT); it's more likely he was saved from the washer by Steve (remember the stain on the wall). It's also likely that Sam's dad is not a demon (I like the immortality theory) since he was in the process of digging himself out of (demon escape-proof) Solomon's cage when his wife arrived.

Don't agree: Sam did have powers in the Pilot, they just seemed to forget about them for most of the season. And that was well before Steve was in the mix.

I had wondered if they were ever going to get back to that. One day he uses his "powers" to block fire, and then nothing?

Still, I am very happy about the show progression otherwise.

another thing they seemed to cast off was the little quirks Sam developed that related to the soul he would later have to catch .. In one episode he couldn't even stand as every step he took resulted in him slipping around - the demon later was revealed to be slimey.

Yes, I think it would just have become too much of a pain in the ass to keep writing stuff like that.

I love Ray Wise as the Devil. He's just perfect in that role.

Just finished the season finale, and glad that it is coming back next year, at some point. I hope that we won't be left hanging though without a complete explanation about some of the things already mentioned in this thread.

I love this show....but I have a few questions...maybe someone here can help?

I remember Sam having a brother....did they just drop him from the storyline?

What happened to Sam's old girlfriend...the one that they were hinting at may be the Devil's daughter? I remember she went psycho once or twice on Andi before her car accident. Did they break up over the phone? For the life of me I can't remember and I erased that episode from my DVR.

It'd be great if they ended up being siblings now.
