Battlestar Galactica -- "Guess What's Coming to Dinner" -- 5//2008

Spoiler:
Hera meets the rogue Six aboard Galactica, leading to a standoff with Athena.

Side note, this is the last SD-only broadcast I have to watch because starting 5/20, Cox will have Sci-Fi HD!

Oh, no poll because I'm lazy...

al_bundy 05-16-08 12:16 PM

preview was pretty good on the website

pinata242 05-16-08 12:18 PM

Damn, I'm sucking at the dates. I don't suppose any mods can add 16 to the middle of my date up there.

rfduncan 05-16-08 03:30 PM

Only four left in this season... how long do we have to wait for S5? Are they already in the can?

Isn't this the last season?

cartman 05-16-08 07:00 PM

There are 20 (I think) episodes this season. They've been hinting for ages that we'd only get to see the first 10 then have to wait until 2009 for the last ones. It will so very much suck if we do.

I think that's pretty much official at this point. The second 10 (as opposed to the final 5) in 2009.

Josh-da-man 05-16-08 07:04 PM

Season four has been split into two, ten-episode halves.

The second set of ten episodes will run either this fall or early next year.

It's also been reported that they're considering filming up to three BSG tv movies that would air before the second half of season four.

tonymontana313 05-16-08 08:32 PM

Man I hope they decide to air it this fall rather than wait till next year. It such bs that Scifi decides to cancel BG but they still want to draw out the schedule for as long as they can.

Ranger 05-16-08 10:12 PM

This episode had singing -- singing! We can't have that.

cdollaz 05-16-08 11:11 PM

It also had another long-ass Baltar scene to suck the life out of the show.

das Monkey 05-17-08 02:23 AM

 at the fx on the centurion walking through the crowd. I wonder how much money they wasted on that.

das

What exactly, do you suppose, is the point of the Felix-loses-a-leg storyline?

It sure seems to be getting plenty of airtime.

SciFi isn't canceling the show -- that implies that the producers want to do more seasons but the network doesn't. This is a case like Lost where the producers realize they can't string out the story indefinitely, so they go to the network and say, "Hey, promise us X seasons, and we'll make sure that by the end of it we have everything tied up in a little bow."

Cartload 05-17-08 10:04 AM

Anyone know when this episode is going up on hulu?

Patman 05-17-08 10:15 AM

The last 2 episodes have been very solid, good to have the classic BSG back in the groove again.

I think that's my guess as well - either him or VP Zarek.

Baron Of Hell 05-17-08 12:28 PM

My goodness cylons and humans seem to be acting a lot a like with trust issues. JUMP

the 1st thing I thought of when I heard they were going to reactive the hybrid was "oh, of course they cut her off from actually controlling anything worthwhile and important on the basestar, right? "JUMP" uhhh, no, I guess not."

al_bundy 05-17-08 03:30 PM

not really suprised that Natalie bought the cylon farm, the Six that is a prisoner on Galactica is the one that is important. she was the one that decided to go to the colonials even though she knew they would imprison her. and since she wasn't mistreated, there are no trust issues

If Felix loses another limb soon, I'll be getting a Monty Python and the Holy Grail vibe from his subplot.

It's one of the major themes of any Ron Moore final season. That, and the singing.

DarkestPhoenix 05-17-08 07:00 PM

I hate Felix and I'm glad he lost his leg, that bastard.

I think the final Cylon has to be either President Roslyn, Starbuck or Baltar. Didn't President Roslyn comment on 'the music' she heard at Baltar's trial?
