I'm going to be pissed if CBS cancels Moonlight. Its looking less and less likely it will be picked up due to the fact they are stocking up on drams. Its amazing as its typically #1 in its Friday 9pm slot and they brought it back to film 4 additional episodes after the strike. Its the only show I watch on CBS.

Double_Oh_7 05-12-08 02:58 PM

What about New Adventures of Old Christine? THAT is the funniest sitcom in years.

If CBS cancels it ABC is planning on picking it up. So its good no matter what. It would be a good pair with Samantha Who, Scrubs (now on ABC), and *fingers crossed* Miss/Guided.

CBS picks up six for 2008-09 slate
Network nabs two comedies, four dramas

By CYNTHIA LITTLETON

CBS has made its pilot pickup calls, greenlighting two comedies and four dramas for its 2008-09 sked.

The half-hours are "Worst Week," based on a British format, from scribe Matt Tarses and Universal Media Studios; and "Project Gary," starring Jay Mohr as a recently divorced dad, from ABC Studios and scribes Ed Yeager and Ric Swartzlander.

Dramas are as expected: Jerry Bruckheimer's "Eleventh Hour" and "The Mentalist," from Warner Bros. TV; "The Ex List" (formerly "Mythological Ex") from 20th Century Fox TV; and murder mystery "Harper's Island," from CBS Paramount Network TV.

Great news, this would go great with Scrubs.

ABC Officially picks up Scrubs

Via Zach Braffs MySpace page...

Subject: Scrubs moves to ABC

Body:

Dear friends,

Many of you have been understandably confused by the fairy-tale episode of Scrubs serving as the series finale. It was not. I was not allowed to say it until today, but Scrubs will be moving to ABC for its final season. We are currently filming the eighth and final season. The true finale of the show will air on ABC in the fall. NBC merely promoted the fairy-tale episode as the finale, as it was the last episode they owned.

Also, several of you were very confused by the fact that Dr. Kelso and Laverne were still working at the hospital in the fairy-tale episode. Because of the writer's strike, the last remaining episodes for NBC were aired out of order. This is why Dr. Kelso was still chief of medicine. That was not Laverne, however, for those of you who have been following closely; it was a new nurse "Shirley" who no one thinks looks anything like Laverne except for JD.

Hope this clears some things up.

Peace and love,
Z.B.

For Moonlight fans...

CBS has revealed their summer lineup, including plans to continue airing episodes of Moonlight at 9/8c on Fridays through July 4. So far we know that CBS will re-air fan favorite “B.C.” on May 23 and “The Ringer” on May 30. We’ll continue with our episode previews this summer to keep everyone up to date.
Seems stupid to be airing reruns of a show they would cancel....right? Its not like they are burning off episodes...but reruns...

C'mon CBS...renew Moonlight!

Right, but no mention of it by either network (so far).

Gizmo 05-12-08 04:24 PM

No mention but confirmed much like Scrubs.

DJariya 05-12-08 04:53 PM

There is a rumor on TV Guide that the Unit will get renewed and will move to Friday nights. That's a very bad move if CBS does that. Pairing it with NCIS was such a perfect combination.

I'm not sure why they are treating The Unit so poorly. It was doing very well in the ratings before the writers strike.

Maybe it costs too much to produce and that is why they are hesitating.

It's official: Reaper has been renewed. Multiple Reaper insiders confirm that the show is looking like a go for a second season. Per one source, Dawn Ostroff is leaning toward bringing it back for 13 episodes as a mid-season replacement.

It just does not seem to do well.

Miss/Guided didn't make the cut, but somehow According To Jim did. And Scrubs will not be on until midseason.

Red Dog 05-13-08 08:01 AM

Not much change there. The BL move to Monday is good for me. Tuesday at 10 has usually featured a number of shows that I record. Lots of pressure on "Life on Mars," following Grey's Anatomy; I don't really see them as compatible shows.

Goldberg74 05-13-08 08:08 AM

 for Eli Stone!...

... but  for the time slot (against L&O:SVU and possibly Shark).

I watch all three. :(

Hey, I don't have a problem with ABC scooping up other networks' sloppy seconds! If all these shows were on on the same night, they'd have a "must see TV" night in my book!

mphtrilogy 05-13-08 08:09 AM

very few comedies for ABC... I guess they have more dramedies than most networks so thats the reason??

sad to see MissGudied not returning that one had real potential

Tracer Bullet 05-13-08 08:19 AM

I have to admit I'm a little bummed that The Singing Bee got canceled. It wasn't anything great but it was entertaining- a nice little game show in the vein of older 60s-80s ones, without all the modern flash and manufactured drama.

macnorton 05-13-08 09:21 AM

Pushing Daisies, Life On Mars, Lost...now that is a great night (hint hint ABC)

Sadly no more Miss/Guided, I liked that one. But more Eli Stone is good for me.

lordwow 05-13-08 09:36 AM

Life on Mars sounds pretty interesting.
