HEADS UP -Underbelly - New Australian "Sopranos like" Crime Drama
Just a heads up on a new fantastic Australian crime drama based on true events of the mid 90s to mid 00s in which there were over 30 murders in the Melbourne Underground between rival factions. This show has actually been banned in the State of Victoria (where Melbourne is) because of upcoming trials of real life crime figures who are featured in the drama, worried about jury bias.
It's been called the Australian Sopranos. To me there is only one sopranos, but it is very realistic, gritty, well acted and shows a side of Melbourne not many people have seen. Like the Sopranos though, there are liberal amounts of sex and violence
There are only going to be 13 episodes and 11 have aired to date.
