I can get behind that, but I prefer their not so great ideas when they are at least topical. That's all I'm trying to get at.

I'm always a good 24 hours late on TV threads since I watch them the next day. Trey and Matt can do a show on Tivo in 10 more years.

I don't care what anyone says, this was easily one of the best episodes of the last 2 seasons. Fucking brilliant. I hadn't laughed that hard in a long time.

The reference is to the gross and stupid things redneck kids do to get high.

When I was in high school, these idiots were killing brain cells by huffing spray paint fumes. I've seen news articles in the last couple of months about kids using fumes from fermented shit to get high, and about kids joking themselves to death trying to get a buzz from asphyxiation.

Pretty good episode. I didn't get all the references, but it was "good enough."

Cartman and the Cats were hysterical.

Is "joking yourself to death" like watching South Park until you're laughing so hard you can't breathe? Sounds dangerous (unless you're Jimmy James ;)).

:hscratch: I didn't realize only redneck kids do stupid things to get high or that Kenny would be considered a redneck.

Kenny's white trash.. its a sterotypical view that white trash kids get high off of paint fumes and White Out. That's where that joke comes in to play.

I think the moment where I really lost it was when Butters was sitting at the kitchen table with Kenny as he's detox-ing. Kenny just barfs everywhere and little spatters hit Butters' face, and Butters is like "That's it. Let it all out!" rotfl

Well, I think a lot more people try to find cheap ways to get high other than just "white trash." Hell, the whole part where they mentioned getting high off of feces fumes is aimed at poor inner city kids. I was just trying to point out that the poster was making a broad generalization with no basis whatsoever.

Episode 1204 Announcement

This Week on South Park: "Canada on Strike"
The head of the World Canadian Bureau leads the country into a long and painful strike and the responsibility of brokering a settlement rests with the boys.

Let the "oh now they do a writer's strike episode? Old!" crap begin".

Jimmy James 03-31-08 04:29 PM

For the record, I think a writer's strike episode is perfectly timely. Their last fall episode came right after the strike started, but they didn't have much opportunity to deal with it.

vedderstapp 04-01-08 05:50 AM

Finally seen this episode - SIGNIFICANT step up. Funny, imaginative, and not reliant on an unfunny premise.
