I have yet to watch the finale, but it got ruined for me by Yahoo! News headline of "Top Chef cooks up first female winner", so I just read the article...so glad Steph won.

Now Lisa can just fade into obscurity with her poorly cooked rice and shitty attitude. And I hope Dale pisses on her at the reunion special.

I was a little worried when Lisa started getting the "winner's edit" during that last episode after being shown as a bitch all season, but thankfully it was just he producers throwing us a curveball.

I think Richard was an idiot for stating that he choked. Maybe he did and maybe he wasn't going to win anyways, but who knows? Maybe the judges would have declared him the winner based on his consistency all season despite slipping a little at the end. But once he said "I choked" at the judges' table, there was no way they could give him the win. He basically removed himself from any consideration right then and there.

I'm glad Stephanie won, though.

I had read last week that one of the finalists who didn't win the show would be getting their own TV Show, that led me to be pretty confident that Blaise would not win, as I doin't see either of the other 2 getting a tv show.

and I also loved Richard showing off his nitrogen experiments to the Spotted Pig and Le Bernardin chefs.

I think he darn well knew that he wasn't winning at that point.

That was cool. I also like how Richard was pretty humble about it, he was so freaking stoked that he was showing them something, as opposed to being smug about it.

While it wasn't bacon ice cream, my 11th grade Chem class did make some vanilla ice cream with liquid nitrogren, and it is phenomenal. Literally seconds before Richard explained why it's so good (no crystals) I had said that line to my girlfriend.

Richard having a show could definitely be interesting.

Happy that Stephanie won. It seems like she was the most deserving, not just for this ep but for consistent performance through the course of the season.

Lisa did much better than I figured she would have. Well, you know, that isn't completely true. I actually figured that she would do OK cooking her own stuff in the final meal. Didn't think she would do THAT good though! Surprised that she so obviously seemed to defeat Richard, though. Figured it would be a little more of a three-way race.

What is funny to me is looking back at the beginning of the season, I really didn't care for Richard. I found him smug and annoying and really wished that he would have to pack his knives pretty early. But as the season progressed, I began to like him more and more. Even this final ep gave you more reasons to like the guy.

Even if he did choke a bit ...

The problem with a Molecular Gastronomy show would be the "Do not attempt!" and "Proceed with caution" warnings that would have to be plastered all over it. I'd watch it.

I don't recall her cooking a lot of Asian dishes, just talking about it all the time. But I suspect when she talks, most people just hear a painful buzzing sound in their heads, so I'm not surprised you missed it.

How funny is it that a few weeks back Lisa was making snide comments about Dale doing yet another Asian dish, and now suddenly she is an Asian chef?

She just doesn't seem to have much identity.
Wasn't that Antonia that made the comments about Dale?

I'm not sure if Antonia made one too, but Lisa most certainly made some snide comments about Dale cooking Asian inspired food.

Yes. She did mention that everything that he ever did was Asian influenced.

I can't believe anybody hasn't posted anything about Gail commenting on Stephanie's "snapper" at Judge's Table...
Me and my brother laughed out loud when we heard that!

I located S1 and S2 and am watching them at the min.

Watched S2 first, and I think S1 has some bizarre characters. Couldn't find a thread on here for S1, there are S2 and S3 threads. Or maybe my searching is off.

Summary of the reunion show, everything is available in t-shirt format apparently, and if it isn't already, it will be. I was really bored last night...

Individual player montages, notably Ryan who doesn't shut the hell up.
Spike being a douche, Gail has a thing for Spike, Spike and the New Zealand guy like taking baths together.
Andrew being psychotic.
Richard likes Dale's nipples, wife is about to squeeze one out (assume she already did)
Feuds
Antonia "The Black Hammer" montage
People hate Lisa and tell her to her face she looks like a bitch.
F-bomb montage
"Quote of the year": I have a culinary boner!
Steph looking surprised everytime she wins something.
Fan Fave: Steph
