Jericho---"Termination for Cause"---3/11/08
Only 2 episodes left after tonight.
Synopsis: Spoiler:
|
FUCK YEAH! Now that episode rocked!
|
I didn't think that they'd let Stanley do that, but I guess with 2 episodes left, no one is off limits.
MAN, I hope they renew this show. It's the only thing I look forward to watching during the week. |
Good episode, but it seems like things have kind of been sloppily put together in terms of writing this season.
So Goetz was removed from duty by Ravenwood - Beck should be informed of this pretty quick, so he should realize Goetz wasn't on the up and up, and therefore shouldn't take any action without getting all of the facts. And all of this Bonnie/Mimi/Goetz ordeal over $10,000? Doesn't seem like much to go on a killing spree over. Wouldn't it have been easier for the Jericho people to put on a fundraiser for poor old Goetz to get him his $10,000? Maybe $10,000 is a lot in the "new" America. Still, enjoying this season, and am going to make sure and enjoy the last 2 as much as possible, since I'm sure this will be the LAST 2. :( |
By the time somebody has found it out, it's not $10,000 -- it's losing all that power that you lord over the county or whatever unit they're using in vertical stripes land.
I imagine if Goetz thought he'd be caught, fired, and killed over it all, he probably would have either gone for a much bigger sum and would have fled or he would have made his $10,000 by shaking down people instead of stealing from J&R. I speculated last week that it is completely implausible that Goetz didn't search that house and find Mimi, and I say it again this week. You don't go shooting the beloved deaf girl and taking the ledger only to leave the Mimi question open in any way. |
This ain't your kindler gentler Jericho anymore.
Maybe $10,000 is a lot in the "new" America. |
I really don't think that this is the only $10,000 Goetz has stolen. It's simply the evidence that would probably lead to much more.

You know...I truly hate that they made the show this good. Maybe if we can get the lunatics to send in a bunch of nuts we'll get a resolution movie or something.
|
I actually shed a tear when Stan was signing his last words to Bonnie. A nice touch.
This episode was extra minty goodness. |
Great show. I figured they only took the rifles because they were Ravenwood issue.
|
Amazing episode. One more reason why this show should be renewed.
|
Favorite scene of the night.
Jake: They tried to use you as bait? Hawkins: They tried. Man, I would watch a show with Hawkins just doing what he does. |
Yaaaaaay. Hawkiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiins!!!!

That was the only explanation I could think of. |
So have have this short season 2 been so far for you guys who hated season 1?

Seriously, all we need is Jake and Hawkins. Everyone else seems to make stupid decision after stupid decision. The signing scene was surprisingly touching - equally surprising was Stanley pulling the trigger on Goetz. Also was very (pleasantly) surprised with what Newburn did with that body as a warning to Ravenwood. Damn am I going to be pissed when/if this thing gets canceled. The devotion of the fans made me give this show a try when Universal HD started playing the reruns, and now I'm absolutely hooked. -Doc |

If the first season had all been like this, everyone would love it. |

If the first season had all been like this, everyone would love it. I didn't hate S1. The town stories never did anything for me and were laughably boring, but the Hawkins/coup plot kept me around. Since that is what they decided to focus on in S2, it's been a huge improvement. |
Great Episode! They are still saying "Final two episodes of the season" in the promo spots, so maybe they haven't made up their minds yet. If it is cancelled, I hope they tie up some loose ends, rather than a rushed tacked-on ending like Millennium.

I watched 4 eps on my PVR yesterday that I had been saving (including this one) and DAMN, Jericho got good. Great ep last night, loved the scene with Stanley signing to Bonnie. Can't wait to see how they finish up the season.

I hope, if there is no chance of renewal, they end the show with the nuke going off destroying the town and everyone in it.
Second season is MUCH improved over the first. |
Best episode of any show I have watched this season...
|
Speaking of the renewal of the show. Didn't the fans fight just to get a conclusion of the show since it was left with a huge cliffhanger last season.I thought it was brought up right away that we were only getting half a season more to get a proper conclusion and that was going to be the end of the show.

Given all of that, I think the message between the lines has always been that we're getting this as a send off. Indeed, I certainly hope we're in for a satisfying conclusion because I think this is all we're getting. |
Jericho Shot Alternate Ending Carol Barbee, executive producer of CBS' post-apocalyptic series Jericho, told TV Guide that she shot an alternate ending to the upcoming second season that will wrap up the show in the event it isn't picked up for a third season. The show, which was canceled at the end of its first season last year, was revived after an aggressive campaign by die-hard fans who mailed CBS tons of peanuts, an allusion to a line of dialogue in the season finale. The seven-episode second season begins in January. "The ending that we planned was always meant to be a payoff for the seven-episode arc," Barbee told TV Guide this week at a party to launch the show's first-season DVD set. "It won't close off the whole story, but it will show you where we would go in a third season." If the show isn't renewed for a third season, "it gives you a huge mythology so that you understand so much about what has happened," she said. When the show returns, the small town of Jericho, Kan., will again be in total chaos. "We [left] on the brink of war with New Bern," said Barbee. "The government has broken up into factions, and there are several people claiming to be the legitimate government. One of them is in Cheyenne, Wyo., so the Cheyenne government comes to town." What happens next is a mystery. "They're there to stop the war with New Bern, but they're also there for a secret agenda," Barbee told the magazine. |
I saw the "Final Two Episodes" in the credits and figured we were done for. Bummer.
|
With only 5.9 million viewers. chances of a third season are virtually nil. Too bad, since it has really hit the mark over the five episodes aired so far this season.

watched it last night and loved it, even if we don't get a 3rd season, this is still a helluva last 7 episodes! Hopefully Constantino will get his too!
