:toast:
Yeah, I'm pretty happy!

WallyOPD 03-01-08 09:44 PM

I'm pretty sure the Variety article said NBC was hoping to do a third season by bringing in multiple networks, but it wasn't a done deal yet.

hippie68 03-01-08 09:55 PM

Sweet!!!!!

JuryDuty 03-01-08 10:36 PM

Wow--GREAT news! I really didn't think it'd go another.

Timber 03-01-08 10:39 PM

Nice, guess I need to watch the season 2 "finale" now.

Red Dog 03-01-08 10:55 PM

Cool. Maybe low-expectation Friday is the place for it to be.

mwbmis 03-01-08 11:27 PM

eh...hopefully they'll improve over this season.

I did notice that Landry and Tyra were in the latest will.i.am Obama video.

Uhhhh, I don't think there is anything official about that story. That sounds like the exact same story that TV Guide reported last week. It sounds like they are assuming it gets renewed. I believe the deal still has to be worked out.

I'll believe it when I see it reported by Michael Ausiello, Variety or Hollywood Reporter.

Hell Yes!

Fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael Corvin 03-05-08 11:11 PM

Enjoy it while it lasts. I'm sure this will be the final season. I doubt this show has the ability to do a Seinfeld or Cheers type turnaround in viewership. This will definitely be their last shot at succeeding. It's a hefty weight, but the writers better make it count.

mwbmis 03-05-08 11:23 PM

Any word yet if Riggins will be back for his third senior season (while not attending classes and still maintaining his football eligibility)?

Thanks Debbie Downers... :(

The last episode ended while they were still seniors with 7 scripts that have not been shot...I imagine the 3rd season would continue from that point i.e. still seniors.

Here's what Ausiello is reporting:

Friday Night Lights Renewal Rumor: It's (Pretty Much) True!

There's no deal... yet.

That's what my sources over at the Peacock are telling me in response to a Deadline Hollywood Daily story claiming NBC has picked up Friday Night Lights after partnering with DirecTV. That said, the buzz is that an agreement has been reached and is essentially just awaiting a signature. To which I say, Ohymygodthankyoujesus!

What would an NBC/DirecTV combo look like? I'm not 100 percent certain, but I'm guessing it would be similar to the Law & Order: CI deal NBC brokered with USA, only in this case, FNL would first air on an exclusive DirecTV channel followed by an encore broadcast on NBC.

Bottom line: Ohymygodthankyoujesus!

I LOVE my Directv! :)

Yeah. The strike gave them a ready-made excuse to keep the seniors around another season.

Interesting deal with DirecTV. I wonder how much earlier new eps will air on DirecTV compared to NBC?

DJariya 03-06-08 12:50 PM

The Directv deal sounds interesting. So if I'm interpreting this correctly, Directv will split the production costs and they will get the brand new episodes 1st.

Looks like I will have to re-set my FNL season pass on Tivo to Channel 101.

Goat3001 03-06-08 01:17 PM

I wonder what they'll do with Smash after they finish the 7 episodes that they had left. Logically they would need to write him off but I'm sure they'll find some way to keep him on.

I know Riggins is supposed to go too. They can just not bring that up since they barely mention it in season 2. He seems like the perfect candidate to be a super-super senior.

I hope they find a way to bring football back into the show. However, I doubt they can do it without rehashing the plot from season one.
