Update
Scrubs: A Possible Season 9 July 16, 2008 - This morning at the Television Critics Association press tour, ABC's Stephen McPherson was asked about the possibility of Scrubs continuing beyond the upcoming eighth season, which will mark the show's move to ABC. McPherson said that officially they only picked up Scrubs for one season, but, "We do think there's an opportunity after that." McPherson has noted before that he feels that Scrubs could potentially work like a comedic version of ER, introducing a new crop of doctors at Sacred Heart. However, he did say that currently, "We're talking to Zach [Braff], talking to Bill [Lawrence]." That being said, McPherson said that even if none of the original characters are a part of the show beyond this coming season, he still felt, "There's a great opportunity for growth there." McPherson added, "Hopefully it will not be a one season situation [on ABC]." There is a Scrubs panel with series creator Bill Lawrence and the cast later today at the TCA press tour, and we'll update you on any news regarding the show continuing past Season 8. |

I thought Bill Lawrence was ready to wrap and move on. While I still enjoy this show, it really lost steam in the past few seasons writing-wise. I'd just like to follow it to the central character's resolution of his situations (J.D.). Once the narrator has wrapped and left the building, there is no way to continue the show in the same vein that made me enjoy it. Bill Lawrence should hold tight to his original plan and write 18 strong episodes leading to the finale. |
Scrubs finally jumps to HD on ABC
by Richard Lawler, posted Jul 17th 2008 at 9:51AM A lot of things have changed since 2006. We're not as angry, Michael Robinson is now a fullback for the 49ers, and Scrubs has gone from the only SD holdout on NBC's Thursday night lineup (with the exception of one surprise HD test episode) to finally joining the high definition world in its 8th season, now on ABC. Of course this means we can finally start watching again -- even with the possibility that this is the last season with star Zach Braff planning to leave and take main character J.D. with him -- does anyone know what happened after that whole "I'm pregnant" announcement? :bdance: http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/07/17...-to-hd-on-abc/ |
Great to see this in HD, finally!

Well, I was about to start buying the seasons of this show, but was considering just waiting for a complete set at this point. I doubt they would package the DVDs of the first several seasons with the last season on BD, so I guess I should just get what's out now.

Wasn't one episode a season or two back done in HD? (It was the first or last eps of the season)
