re: listing #10 above

What bonehead transcribed that list and doesn't know the true artist. Hello? The night's theme may be a clue.

FAIL.

He doesn't look anything like Shrek.

Well...it's possible that it's correct. Remember when Chris did I Walk the Line on theme night, but did Live's version? Could be similar here.

But thank you for noticing that I made a c/p job instead of accusing me of making such a mistake

I gotta say I dont get all the ragging on Robbie for not being "authentic". Do you think any of those artists are "authentic" Archuletta has been groomed since day 1 for a singing career, he is so molded its obvious. Every performer has a persona they are portraying. Robbie has been with his band for 6 years, looking the same, singing the same. You dont have to like him, but calling him out every week on being authentic is unfair since every single one of them has a calculatted act and movements. I'm just getting tired of it.

As Exhibit A, I give you Robbie Carrico

As Exhibit B, his former band, Boyz N Girlz United

He's not authentic. He's a poseur. The comments are well-taken.

Damn, the kid was 19 then. He did that for one year! He's 26 now. For the past 6 years he has been in Missing Picket and being true to that. Are you being judged for what you did at 19? It just so happens at 19 that was all the rage for that age group.

I don't care if he's "authentic" or not, but I stand by my assessment that he rocks about as hard as Peter Cetera. Considering his vocals are merely average, I'm not sure what he adds to this competition.

Exactly. And now it's being a scraggly rocker type. So that's what he's doing.

But my complaint with him has nothing to do with authenticity, it's that 1) I don't think he's anything special as a singer and 2) I don't care for his personality or demeanor.

If that is true, then the question by Randy and the answer were scripted and possibly even rehearsed.

Paula saying that she wanted to hang the kids head off her rear-view mirror was creepy and stalkerish... didn't she get in trouble last year for misconduct with a contestant?

Now you've lost me.

He's a poseur. And he may be wearing a wig. He always has a stocking cap on, except last night he didn't and his hairline looked suspect.

It just so happens when HE was 19, that was all the rage for that age group, back in 2000 or something?

All I'm saying is that he performed for a boy band, didnt work out. Grew into performing his style of rock instead. So what? He's been working seedy bars performing for 6 years and staying true to that. Love him, hate him, whatever. I find that more appealing than the groomed manufactured star search robots that are getting all the love. I find that very unauthentic.

Add to that, the fact he is from Murray, Utah although I have no idea whether he is Mormon or not.

I've read all over the place that he IS in fact, Mormon, however, after spending the required 45 seconds to find I link, I've come up empty for anything definitive.

I guess I live in the real world, considering I actually know him, his family, etc..so you know what? I feel qualified to speak on the subject. Like I said before he didnt invent this persona for this show. It's who he has been for the last 6 years. That doesnt seem like a poser to me.

This is actually quite common. In order to skirt the theme, performers find a song with a more cover in a style they're more comfortable with and sing that version instead. Chris Daughtry did it a few times, as I recall.

If you know him so well - when did he start wearing a wig?
