Sounds pretty logical. Except I would put "died" in quotes. We don't know that any of the Oceanic others are dead. That's just the story being told.

Actually, rewatching that scene with the cards, Charlotte is asking what Daniel remembers. So it might his short term memory that is affected.

Another theory floating around suggests that the cards might have actually changed from the start of the experiment (which we didn't see.) Very similar to the changing picture frames that we saw in a previous episode. Since the hatch incident, alterante universes with slight variations might be popping up all over the world with the main focal point being the island. And it is these alternate universes that Desmond is seeing in his visions.

I've never put much credence in the alternate universe theory, but this has me thinking.

That's a pretty tired response DSA. There is plenty of evidence already presented about the potential identity of the person in the coffin. To dismiss it out of hand just to fit any specific theory doesn't make alot of sense..

There's no shame in being wrong about LOST. All of us have been for pretty much the entire duration of the show.
