CW puts 6 of it's shows back to work
From http://www.tv.com:
Smallville, Supernatural, Reaper, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and The Game targeting mid-April return. The aftermath of the Hollywood work stoppage can't keep Superman, the demon-hunting Winchester brothers, and New York private-school girls in plaid skirts down. More Dean Winchester will bring a smile to anyone's face. While some shows are calling this television season a done deal, the CW is asking six of its top shows to return to work and produce up to half a dozen new episodes to air this season, says Media Week. The six shows getting the call for "five or six more episodes" are Smallville, Supernatural, Reaper, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and The Game. The network hopes to get new episodes on the air by mid-to-late April, with the half-hour comedy The Game getting as many as nine fresh episodes beginning next month. As for the rest of the CW's slate, Aliens in America, which produced a hearty 18 episodes before being shut down by the strike, will not go back to work. The unaired episodes will air eventually, but the status of the show returning for a second season is currently uncertain. Life is Wild and Girlfriends will not be back and are likely done for good. More news from studios detailing their updating schedules is expected in the near future. Glad to get a few more eps of Gossip Girl... Its become quite the guilty pleasure lately.
|
didn't know they aired anything besides Smallville :)
|
I really hope Aliens in America returns. It's an incredibly good show.
|
out of those i only watch supernatural. i catch smallville on dvd.
supernatural has been great this season. |
Did they film all 22 episodes of Everybody Hates Chris? They haven't aired a new one since mid-December.
|
The last show I watched regularly on the CW was the Jamie Kennedy Experiment (back when the CW was the WB). For the poll I would choose "none of the above".
|
I've never been able to watch "Supernatural" on broadcast, but its a great DVD to look forward to..
Excited that "One Tree Hill," "Gossip Girl," and "Reaper" are going back to work!!! |
Awesome news, I watch One Tree Hill, Supernatural, and just started watching Gossip Girl. By the time OTH airs all of its pre strike shows, it shouldn't be too long before its new episodes come back.
|
This poll is screwed up. How can Supernatural have 13 votes and Smallville only 11 (at press time), when Smallville gets 2M more viewers a week? I smell a fix!
Chris |
I watch the 1st 5 shows on this poll. Very much looking forward to all their returns.
|
Just "Supernatural" one of the most entertaining shows in TV.

The wife and I watch Reaper and Gossip Girl. We also started watching One Tree Hill again this season (we bailed after the S1 finale). As I said last night - what a horribly written/acted show. It makes some of the networks other shows look award-worthy. The actors who play Lucas/Peyton are the worst of the bunch - which makes it even worse. |

Agreed. One of the few comedies I watch. Good news on the rest. |

I also lost track of Supernatural last season, but that was more due to a scheduling conflict on Thursdays combined with the fact my roommate had all the episodes on his DVR when he moved so I never got a chance to see them. Psyched about One Tree Hill and Reaper. I'm hoping this is a sign that both shows will be back next season. Their ratings haven't been stellar this season, but since the strike interfered with pilot production and the CW is losing Smackdown, maybe the CW will give them both another go. |
Whoa - great news!
Gossip Girl needs to have a season wrap - where they left it was cool, but I want some more major things to happen (as were allegedly starting to build in certain storylines). Smallville I just want to continue in hopes that they can finish the series next season with minimal padding into a NINTH without the central villian. Supernatural - well it is Supernatural, nuff said. (Aside from the fact that this seasonal arc is shaping up to be very interesting!) Reaper took an interesting twist at the end of its last new episode. I would like it to mature a little more and get its legs before season 2. Everybody Hates Chris? Well there are no new episodes to MAKE. From what I read the entire season was in the can long before the strike. Great show though. |

Aliens in America was a really good show. Ashame that people didn't give it a chance.
Good to see more Smallville. |
