Montel Williams gets fired from his talk show for speaking out on Fox News

Fate of "The Montel Williams Show" was sealed when key Fox-owned stations opted not to renew it for the 2008-09 season.

Fox News is supposed be very conservative so why would his show get axed over his sentiments about dead troops in Iraq? I find it coincidental. Closer to the truth is his show hasn't changed since the first time it aired. I'm surprised he and Maury's show weren't cancelled years ago.

Well, if I bad-mouthed my company publicly I'd probably be out of a job too.

Makes sense to me. But it is the "evil" Fox sure surely they must be in the wrong.

Most definitely, just not necessarily for this.

Obviously he went on with an agenda. They invited him on for the purpose of talking about Heath's death. If you don't want to, don't say yes.

Since it had been speculated that the show would be ending for months before his Faux News appearance, the events are likely just coincidental and not causal.

Montel Williams made a lot of money with this kinda of bullshit talkshow. If he really wanted he could have used his hour of air to talk about important social issues, not "don't go on a cruise because there are no laws on the high seas"""

But of course he didn't because his show would have drawn zero interest and would have been cancelled. So now that he knew his show was on the chopping block, he decides to become a martyr.

He does have a point though about the stupid Heath coverage.

Well, he'd sound less like a hypocrite criticizing the news if the topics of his hour-long talk shows were more substantive and not 'who is my baby's father?'

Yea, I would have a lot easier time feeling sorry for him and believing his little soapbox, if he didn't constantly have Ms.Slyvia Brown on his show , taking advantage of people in need. With him doing that, he loses any kind of credibility, in my eyes.

What a freakin' douchebag. I'd have fired him, or choose not to renew his show, also if I were in charge. If he has issues like that, he should do it off air to the people who are actually in charge, and not just blast everyone with it live on air during a segment where I'm sure he knew what it was planned to be about.

How do you know that he didn't try it "off air" and got the brush off?

I don't, that's not the point if he got brushed off or not off air. I highly doubt they then said to him that it would be fine and dandy for him to come on for a segment about the death of Ledger and then talk about what he was going into, not to mention pretty much trying to slap the face of the very network he was on.

I'm sure he was asked to go on air, about a specific subject on a specific segment, he agreed, and instead decided to blindside them with his own soapbox opinions.

I can see what Montel is trying to do and have some respect for that but the topic was Heath Ledger who actually contributed something positive to the world unlike the troops who waste my tax money and blow their own dumb-asses up in "friendly fire" and rape/murder Iraqi children. So, therefore i can understand mourning and discussing Ledgers life that the "troops" who have contributed to the wasting of my Tax's and supporting Bush's agenda.

I think Montell makes a good point about the over abundance of Heath coverage. I liked the guy plenty and its a shame he passed away so tragically, but it does seem like all the coverage about his death is all about ratings.

Now if Montell wanted to address this point on his show I could appreciate that but he decided to climb on his soapbox and blindside his colleagues with this and that is just unprofessional. He deserves to get fired for it.

Your contributions are neither positive, intelligent... or wanted.
