I certainly can subscribe to the idea that not everything in the world can be explained, no matter how much science and logic you try to apply to it.
Your analogy of: High percentage of the world believing in god = possibility of psychics, doesn't work. It's also a common argument I hear in religious debates as well. Example: "If so many of the people in the world believe in God, then there must be a God!" It floors me when people use this to justify their faith in their religion. It demeans faith.

Let's play with this using another common concept:

If people for centuries believed the Jews were evil, greedy, and the cause of the world's problems, and we all know a large percentage of the world believed just this (as well as many today still do), then I do not find it to be a stretch that Jews are greedy, evil and the cause of the world's problems.

Do you see the problem with this sort of reasoning? Are you still sure you can "subscribe" using this sort of argument?

Here is another (I'm tired, and this is bugging me, so I apologize for dragging on):
If so many people support terrorism in the middle east and other parts of the world, why shouldn't we entertain the idea that their methods and messages are right?

I know, it isn't perfect to your analogy, but similar enough.

And to conclude: I'm not trying to pick on you, but I just hope you can see through this sort of argument. "If so many people believe/follow/etc ___________, then _________," I believe, should not be justification for anything anyone is willing to believe in (and please don't take this as an attack towards faith. Faith is good, just don't justify it with this sort of argument, it makes your beliefs seem shallow).

Ok, bed time.
