It doesnt bother me that some of these people have either been in bands or have had CD's. There is a far cry from having a CD and being discovered by America and having the opportunity to have national exposure. Few performers are going to be able to have their dreams come true by just having a CD out or their music on their myspace page. If they are truly talented then I am glad to be able to find out about them via American Idol. Would you ever of heard of Kristy Lee Cook any other way? Why hold it against them?

I can see your point entirely - but on the other hand, I don't think that Record companies or anyone else should be using AI exposure as a PR tool. It was originally supposed to be to discover talent.

The Stalker Guy was pretty funny.

Not sure if this has been posted already, but here is the link for "stalker guy's" website:

www.paulpiano.net

He is actually a professional piano player, who is also part of a musical comedy duo named the "Hairy Aureolas".

The last girl of the first hour tonight, was her name "Katie Malloy" or "Katie Lloyd"?

Either way, Katie could prove to be really versatile in the different genres if she makes it to the final 12.

The amount of people that have mental issues that make it on this audition show just staggers me. I mean really...is this representative of the general population? I see crazy people all the time out in public, but is it me or is there a rise in the number over the last decade? It's entertaining, for sure, but it's also pretty damn disturbing. I'd love to know how some of these people actually live day to day and function...fucking loons I tell ya!

Im wondering seriously how many people they are showing that are developmentally disabled? Pretty sure 2-3 people have had a diagnosis of mild mental retardation.

Plus, whats with nice and jolly Simon? He's said yes to 2 people who were pretty bad because he liked them.

When the fuck, seriously, will people realize that dressing up in some stupid costume or obviously over-the-top outfit will NEVER get you through to Hollywood? God damn it..

Pretty sure they know they would never get to Hollywood. Think the outfits are just assuring them of getting on TV.

And that guy who saves his fingernails? How smart was telling the world that. Ewwwww

$20 says I'll have "We're Brothers Forever" playing over and over in my head tonight and I may just burst into song at work tomorrow. Be all like, "Dude, you've gotta troubleshoot this line and get their connection working, cause...THEY ARE YOUR BROOOOOTHER, YOUR BEST FRIEND FOREVERRRR!!!"

Quoted because it needs to be said again.

I actually thought last night was pretty good because they managed to keep a good balance between good singers and bad, but tonight was just horrid as Simon would say.

Yup, Kady Malloy. Just checked, she also has Googleable mp3s and some sort of album thing going on.

That was Alaina Whitaker. The one who said when asked about that, "Carrie looks like me."
