I don't care about HD since my TV is standard but I love the face that TNT shows re-runs of shows I like overnight since I'm usually up.

what I can't stand are those annoying goddamn ads at the lower right hand corner that then extends to the left part of the screen - give us a nice clean HD presentation sans the visual commercials.

I definitely have a heterosexual crush on him.

It's because of her wide, round face. She gives me the willies, too.

When did you see Nigella in HD?

Nigella in HiDef would be nice, but I'd fancy a bit of Jamie Oliver in HD as well

Jamie Oliver is starting a new show Saturday morning 1/12 at 9:30 AM ET -- it still hasn't popped up on the Tivo, but is listed on the Food Network schedule.

I wrote History Channel about their HD issues and they wrote back saying that they are trying to iron out some of the aspect ratio issues on their HD channel. I could NOT imagine what this response meant unless they have 8th graders running the control rooms. A&E HD also has OAR issues that make me crazy! Sci-Fi HD just showed up yesterday -- hopefully they know what they're doing.

For what it's worth, I just spoke on the phone (for about ten minutes each) with TBS HD and A&E HD and explained (in detail) what their problem is with their own channels so we'll see if anything come of it. The persons I spoke with seemed very interested and took lots of notes to pass on.

I'm sure they typed them all on their imaginary typewriter...

Seriously though, it would be nice if someone listened..

Only thing i've seen in hd on scifi is the show Jericho and ECW wrestling. Everything else has black bars on the sides.

At least the black bars indicates the correct aspect ratio. These channels even zoom out all the commercials, even the local spots, which are almost never shot in HD. Not yet anyway.

I completely disagree with this... National Geographic and Discovery HD probably have the most beautiful presentations of all these channels. I don't know if you are into the programming they run, but the quality on those channels are amazing. History HD also is great, as evidenced by the fantastic Gangland series that I catch as often as possible. CNN HD is excellent for news/politics junkies (like myself), but I just wish Fox News HD would get off the ground...
