The Amazing Race 12 -- "This Is Forever, Now" -- 12/23/07

"This Is Forever, Now"
Spoiler:
The five remaining teams continue on the seventh leg of the race. Donald waffles about an opportunity to gain a huge advantage. Kynt argues with Vyxsin, ordering her to "stop this car!" The teams encounter new challenges and opportunities in Italy, and one team faces a setback when they lose both their clue and their way. The teams participate in a flag-twirling challenge, where one team falls apart and faces a "nightmarish" experience. One team considers changing their bodies in some way to advance their position in the race.

First Aired: Sunday December 23, 2007

I guess they could tell people the FF stands for Foo Fighters ;)

cdollaz 12-23-07 09:45 PM

Now that is what a fast forward should be like.

Did anyone else think the tattoo looked like the Nazi SS symbol?

Finisher 12-24-07 12:32 AM

I'd be pissed if I got a tattoo on a non-elimination leg. Could've sworn I read there'd be no non-elimination legs.

I read that too.. Maybe that was purposely leaked to throw us off.. :)

Still, the tattoo will be a reminder of the game for years to come, and they got a pretty sweet prize for coming in first. Seems like a good deal to me!

BDB 12-24-07 10:49 AM

I'd be quite pleased with the tattoo FF, and would have taken 2 seconds to decide, mainly because well you are on this race, and it's an amazing journey, and I'm sure the story of where you got the tattoo would be great!

Man Kynt and Vyxsin Fell apart a little, and I felt bad for TK up there for 1.5 hours ..

cdollaz 12-24-07 10:53 AM

Kent shows us again what a pussy he is. I loved when Vixen was helping him climb the rocks.

zuffy 12-24-07 12:24 PM

I was so glad it's a non-elimination legs. I didn't want to see my favorite team leaving. I don't see what is the big deal with getting the tatoo for the FF. You can always have it remove later with laser.

BDB 12-24-07 12:26 PM

I also totally forgot yesterday was sunday and that the race was on.

Jadzia 12-24-07 12:36 PM

I am kind of surprised the kid didn't have his grandpa get the tattoo for him.

zuffy 12-24-07 12:50 PM

He wouldn't if the rule doesn't require both of them to have it.

mike7162 12-24-07 01:27 PM

TK's passive-aggresive whining when Rachel forgot the directions made me long for Nathan's evolved chivalry.

It looks like Vyxsin has the tits and the balls in her relationship with Kent; I like the idea of a surprise challenge better than turning them into street beggars.

Yeah. I wonder if their speed bump will have to deal with the ability to not dress as goths, leave the make-up off for the day, etc.... should prove to at least be amusing, whatever it is. :)

devilshalo 12-25-07 12:03 PM

Did they have choice as to where to place the tattoo?

I guess I need to work on my sarcasm. :)

Chew 12-26-07 06:28 AM

A "speed bump" sounds more interesting than the 30 minute penalty they used last season. At least we don't have to watch the clock counting down at the end.

astrochimp 12-26-07 08:27 AM

Isnt the speed bump replacing the penalty of starting the next leg with no money? The u-turn replaced the 30 minute penalty i think.

sauce07 12-26-07 08:47 AM

I had to miss this leg due to The Skins beating down on the Vikings. I've picked up that this was the Non-eleminations, but who came in last? was it TK and Rachel? just wondering.

astrochimp 12-26-07 09:06 AM

The goths were last behind TK and Rachel.

The penalty 2 years ago for coming in last was to start with no money, but last year they replaced that with the 30 minute penalty. This year, it's the speed bump.

IIRC, the u-turn would be the replacement for the Yield.

Both are good choices because they involve watching a team doing something instead of viewers watching them stand around and bitch for 30 minutes.

astrochimp 12-26-07 09:11 AM

Ah ok,my memory isnt the best so i wasnt sure.Definitely good to make the teams do something rather than just having them bitch for 30 minutes since we get enough of that as it is ;)

devilshalo 12-26-07 12:41 PM

I liked how the FF tattoo was the same font of the F on Kynt's t-shirt.

Thanks, I'm not a huge fan of the Goths, every time I find myself rooting for them Kynt says/does something stupid to make me stop.

Keith6601 12-26-07 05:52 PM

I agree that the U-Turn is better because they have to actually do something, but I remember the yield a couple of years ago where the team was so busy bitching that they bitched for an extra 45 minutes AFTER their time ran out. Morons like that I didn't mind.
