I could understand if it is a 1:1 ratio. If not, and he always jumped back to right after he left then he would appear to age more rapidly in the current time. It may be subtle, but it would probably add up after a while. This way he will age at the same pace as his family.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but NBC passed on ordering the back 9.

http://community.tvguide.com/blog-en...yman/800029221

Thus, Episode 13 next Wednesday will be the "Series Finale."

cracksky 12-12-07 09:53 AM

What did they expect. NBC didn't run one fucking promo for it all week. They can't get NEW viewers without promotion. Idiots.

Numes 12-12-07 09:54 AM

:( :(

I'm absolutely heartbroken....

It was getting SO good. Best show in years.

mrpayroll 12-12-07 09:59 AM

The problem is they could have run all the promos in the world, but this show doesn't lend itself for someone to start watching at Episode 11. There is too much backstory from previous episodes that newbies would be lost.

Heroes is partly to blame for this. If their ratings were higher, maybe Journeyman would have gained 2 million viewers and be renewed like Chuck and Life.

At least we get the full 13.

The show started out pretty decently with a little over 9M viewers, but it just kept dwindling as the weeks went by. I think putting this against CSI:Miami and The Bachelor, which already have established fanbases might have been the kiss of death. Being a serial drama and not having standalone episodes didn't help either.

Doesn't surprise me. It's not an easy show to get into. My wife abandoned it because she has no sympathy for any of the non-Dan characters. She also was tired of the lack of answers for why everything is happening. I just don't think it could really build an audience under those circumstances.

Anyway, I'm glad we are getting the rest of the produced eps.

Knew it was coming but ugh! Give me a fraking Nielsen box! I sure as hell won't be watching mindless shows like Deal or Dance with America's Next Top 5th Grade Idol.

Who wants to start sending Rice a Roni to NBC?

Yup, since the show takes place in SF

This is precisely the reason why the show 'failed'. I can't imagine the show cost that much to produce either...

I just don't understand these damn TV execs...They always put something new that would be a hit, if they put it on a different night, up against an absolute juggernaut of a show. Then they kill it because it didn't pull enough viewers. If Journeyman was on, say, Tuesday or Thursday night, it would have killed. There's fuck-all on those nights.

alfredog1976 12-12-07 12:17 PM

I actually prefer this show over Jericho...how about sending 4 tons of Rice-A-Roni's to NBC? :)

riley_dude 12-12-07 12:23 PM

Bad news but at least we get some type of a finale. Hopefully he will take someone with him at some point.

dstrauss 12-12-07 12:48 PM

Of course. One more hour for some stupid reality TV show now available, like that hideous thing they kept promoting the whole hour this week, and then wouldn't even show a promo for Journeyman.

Cardiff Giant11 12-12-07 05:26 PM

Argh that pisses me off. By giving it a bad timeslot and little promotion, it's basically a self fulfilling prophecy. They cancel it due to the low ratings they helped create. Oh well hopefully the final episode ends on a decent note for a series finale. It's been a fun ride!

riley_dude 12-12-07 06:18 PM

I have read that the last episode could serve as a series finale even though not everything is answered, quite a bit is.

I'll believe it when I see it. How many times for cancelled shows have we heard "Don't worry the last episode could work as a series finale" only to watch it and be completely left hanging for the important answers.

JuryDuty 12-12-07 07:25 PM

Ugh. Though I thought its pilot was weak, this has become one of the best shows of the season. I'll be very sad to see it go.

If I could have changed anything, it would have been:

1) Stronger pilot
2) Better season of Heroes to boost its ratings
3) Dan's wife was miscast
4) More explanation of things by episode 13 so we wouldn't be left wondering what they had planned...

But that said, it's still the best new show...to be canceled. :)

As for the cancellation: At the very least, NBC should have had some kind of schedule to re-air the series leading up to Monday's episode.

Disagree, I thought Gretchen Egolf did a pretty good job as Dan's wife.

I didn't care for her at first, but I've grown to really like her throughout the course of the season.
