BEVERLY HILLS 90210 - saw gays kissing in high school years!!
While watching Soap-Net this morning, watching 90210 when Brenda was still in the cast, as were the Mom and Dad, and Mom and Dad had to choose between Brenda and Brendan to see who went to a good, expensive college.
In a scene with Brendan and Andrea arguing at their lockers, behind them are two gay guys blatantly making out. Brendan and Andrea are oblivious to this behavior, like it was the most normal thing in the world to occur in a high school.
Did original viewers of this show even SEE this? When did it air - 1990? I mean, it would have been easy to miss, since you're focusing on Brandan and Andrea. But right over Andrea's shoulder, there they are - making out against the lockers as if they were in a Gold's Gym as opposed to West Beverly.
It was a good laff.

Or the guy could have the stereotypically bad early 90s haircut.

Forget orientation, I think it's hilarious that had two extras going to town in the background for no apparent reason. Not that it never happens at high school, but it seems to be a distracting thing to put in the scene like that.

Haha, if this is true than "Dawson's Creek" just lost a part of it's legacy :P.
I remember when the third season finale aired all over the evening news, newspapers, and Entertainment Weekly that day everyone was talking about "Broadcast televisions first homosexual male kiss"...

Ok I obviously have way too much time on my hands, but I found the episode on youtube you were referring to. It is at roughly 6:15 in this clip. It actually looks like a chick and a dude, the chick has the back of her hair wrapped around her neck so it is in front of her. The episode is called Highwire. Clip is 2 of 5 and for some reason it has subtitles.
And man I cannot believe I liked this show, it was so frickin cheasy.

Its a girl....in the beginning of the scene the guy pulls her hair to her side so it might look like a guy...
I thought this was pretty funny...in Season 7 (Lost in Las Vegas), after the 2 chicks rip off David and go through his wallet, they show his drivers license. Apparently he's really a 5'7" 118 lb female..

they showed it so quick, it was hard to see that it was a girl (with breasts) kissing a guy leaning against a locker. You know, some kids in 1992 had long hair, so I really thought it was a guy, and real quick - I swear on a stack of bibles that it was a guy.
