Help remembering an 80s TV show

I believe this show was on Nickelodeon, but might have been on PBS. It was about a group of kids that I think solved crimes. The only thing I remember is one episode they figured out salads were making people sick, and some guy with glasses ran into the cafeteria and screamed "Don't eat the salads!"

Sounds like a live action Encyclopedia Brown.

Doesn't ring a bell.

Sounds like it could be Eerie Indiana. The entire series is available on DVD. A couple kids (sometimes others would join them) solving mysteries in their hometown.

Longshot here, but could it be The Bloodhound Gang from 3-2-1 Contact? That was on PBS.

"Whenever there's trouble, we're there on the double. We're the Bloodhouse Gang. If you've got the crime, we've got the time. We're the Bloodhound Gang."

"Bloodhound Detective Agency. Mr. Bloodhound isn't here!"

Loved that show. The Bloodhound Gang in particular seemed to be ahead of its time as a youth-targeted crime solving program.

Noggin was playing them in late-night reruns a few years ago. No idea about now.

Back in 4th grade I recall a walking field trip to our local branch library. We met children's author Sid Fleischman who's books included "The Bloodhound Gang" series. I remember seeing his name on the credits as I watched the show soon after. Quite a brush with celebrity for a 10 year old. :)

I was also able to get his autograph but I lost that book, "Kate's Secret Riddle Book", decades ago. :(

You can find eps of 3-2-1 Contact with The Bloodhound Gang on Youtube.

3-2-1 Contact as an all-around great show. If there's one thing kids don't get enough of any more, it's exposure to science. This show was great for that.

I'd love if 3-2-1 Contact was available as entire episodes somewhere. I'm sure some of the info would be outdated, but the quality of the show and the lack of "talking down" to kids would still be relevant. I remember one animation they did that showed the changes to a town over time, with the speed of time passing changing and moving faster as the animation continued. Would love to see that again and see if my memory is accurate.
