11/29/07 - My Name is Earl - Burn Victim

It looks like the prison arc is concluding in the next couple of episodes.

Summary:

Earl helps the Warden solve another jail house problem between an inmate and his victims. Later Earl realises that planning a prom for the inmates might deplete his lottery winnings.

Typical episode. Not great, not awful. Liked the line about Earl being the "Scumbag Whisperer" though.

I am liking it, only about 1 episode I didnt care for. Last season I was ready to bail. The formula of the show was starting to get boring. I like this season that they are changing it up alittle.

When Coach started shredding Earl's vouchers, I groaned. I really hope he gets out of jail soon, I'm getting tired of it.

Coach should let him out on parole and give him a job as his assistant. Then Earl can do some good on the outside and the inside.

I think the warden is the funniest character this season. Craig T. Nelson is brilliant in that role.

"You're like the Scumbag Whisperer"

I agree with the poster above ^, Craig T. Nelson as the warden is fantastic. My Name is Earl has always used their guest stars well.

Overall, a very strong episode, and I continue to enjoy the "Earl in prison" arc, contrary to popular opinion. I agree with maingon, I thought the "Earl's list" formula was starting to get boring, I welcomed the change in direction the writer's have went with and this season has been much funnier than the second, IMO.

I think he's great too. I thought this episode was above average for this season. Loved hearing Arthur Brown's "Fire"

I don't know how many episodes are left before we run into the strike wall, but I'd imagine that we're talking only about 2-3 more prison episodes at this point. They can only push the prison concept so far beyond where they're at now, I'd think. I doubt Earl is going to be very cooperative with the warden now that the warden has screwed him. I doubt they're turning this into the TV adaptation of The Shawshank Redemption.
