I thought the show picked up real well last night.. seem like they introduce a bunch of new characters (one more in adam guy, but we may not have seen him until the end of this episode).... so now we kinda know that the heroes will have to
- Save New York in 08
- Wake up Molly
- Save HRG live

These goals would somehow be interwoven and probably (hopefully) march toward the end of the season soon... I thought the writing was well.. now everyone has purposes to achieve, once again going to NY...

Correction (I think) - volume. I thought that v2 was only supposed to run part of this year? However, the June 14 date doesn't really lend itself towards that, unless v2 and v3 are running concurrently.

I think "Generations" (AKA 2) is about finding the guy who killed Hiro's dad and stopping him, which will also result in HRG being saved.

I think the virus is them going ahead and setting up the 3rd story which will make up the second half of this season. That makes good sense, particularly since the biggest criticism of this season has been that it took 4 episodes to ramp up a new story. It would have worked much more nicely if they could have done a little bit of that advance work (at least introducing some of the characters?) last season.

Anubis2005X 10-30-07 05:39 PM

Virus? Boo, enough of this "New York is threatened, we have to save it somehow" bullcrap. What's next? What happened in in Season 4 of 24 again?

dpz301 10-30-07 06:08 PM

i enjoyed the episode. interested to see what they do with the time/space riff that hiro created. plot lines seem to be moving along a little quicker IMO now.

Best ep of the season, besides the Sylar/Twins crap.

i'm not a fan of that stuff either, mostly because i am not a huge fan of sylar (his personality just annoys the crap out of me, which is the point, i suppose.)

To put it bluntly - he sucks.

Jimmy James 10-30-07 07:46 PM

Wait...is it possible the guy HRG shot was actually Kensei?

I don't think so, just another ordinary human that happened to train Noah. Maybe we'll see him in one of the flashback Origin eps.

Not necessarily... His sister clearly trusts Sylar (and actually seems to have a crush on him now), and if he kills him, she may rebel against him so he has to be a little cautious at this point (if he did actually understand him).

I think "Bob" still needs a guinea pig he can test his cure on. Molly is still in a coma, what better way to fix her than to remove her power?

Seems like we're venturing into Stephen King's The Stand territory now with this virus.

One of those paintings looked like Claire lying on the steps after she was dropped by her friend when they pranked the cheerleader.

I think Molly is to valuable to take away her power... They would love to have her back as the Molly Walker tracking system.

I read this thread after I posted - and Jadzia was spot on w/ how drawn out everything is.

I just love how a few episodes ago West was saying he never wanted to see her hurt when she was jumping off the Hollywood sign. Now he's the one dropping her. -ohbfrank-

All Heroes has done in it's second season is regurgitate it's first season, though with far weaker scripts and even worse contrivances. Amnesia? Really? Fuck you!!!

Heroes:Origins apparently got canned before it even started.

Fears of a writers strike may have already contributed to a decision NBC made Wednesday to pull the highly anticipated spinoff miniseries of its hit "Heroes" from a midseason launch.

NBC declined comment, but "Heroes: Origins" is not going to get its six-episode run, which was expected to start as early as late April. While the network hasn't officially canceled the spinoff, producers of the series have been given no indication of when it might get a spot on the schedule.

Sources indicated "Origins" may be just the first of many projects lined up at the broadcast networks in 2008 that will get downgraded as a result of the potential strike, which could severely affect the TV industry. Budget allocations made months ago for a range of scripted programs, many of which will not be feasible without sidelined writers, will likely be reconsidered and potentially shifted to strike-proof material like reality and news programs.

"Origins" had been highly touted as a midseason addition since NBC's upfront in May, when then-entertainment president Kevin Reilly envisioned spelling "Heroes" when it took a late-season hiatus. The network had been promoting "Origins" well in advance of its premiere, noting the enlistment of such top directors as Kevin Smith and Eli Roth to write and direct select episodes.

However, it is also possible that NBC, now under the creative direction of Ben Silverman, may have seen its enthusiasm diminish for an expansion of the "Heroes" franchise given a pronounced ratings drop-off in recent weeks for the flagship series.

It is unclear at what stage "Origins" was in the preproduction process, though it is unlikely scripts had been completed.

I'm totally with you. I have seen no drop-off in quality this season.

So ... anyone have any guesses as to what Bob's last name is? I've got my money on Grey (Sylar's real name being Gabriel Grey).

DrRingDing 11-01-07 05:14 PM

The actor playing West reminds me of Owen Wilson. There was a moment in the episode, after he and Claire had pulled the stunt, where he was channeling Wilson completely - in cadence and in inflection.
