Ugly Betty -- "A League Of Their Own" -- 10/25/07

"A League of Their Own"
Spoiler:
Betty tries speed dating and she gets asked out; Marc attracts the attention of a photographer that Marc doesn't see as attracted; Wilhelmina tries to prove to the skeptical Daniel and Alexis that she can be part of the Meade family; Hilda is unaware that Justin has become a changed teen when he starts hanging with the wrong crowd and skips school.

First Aired: Thursday October 25, 2007

Great episode.

"Yes, I love blowing." rotfl

I really liked Marc's new boyfriend.

Yep, good stuff!

It's good to see Justin and Hilda both getting it together, as mother/son as well as individually. But Justin's bad boy antics were entertaining until he got into real trouble.
Kenny was funny, especially the conversation about Henry's "old lady".

Other than the "blowing" comment, this was probably the first episode that I was entirely more interested in everyone other than Betty's exploits..

I was bored to tears with Hilda's subplot. I probably hold too much of a grudge, but I still hate Hilda for what she did in sabotaging Betty & Henry's relationship last season. That was pretty unforgivable in my opinion and I have hated her character ever since. She has never been a good sister to Betty.

Loved this episode. The 'blowing' line had me rolling. I really like Marc and his love interest.

Marc's date was hot.

The opening scene on the bus drove me crazy because this show never really tries to get any New York details right.

They show an express bus driving down Broadway past Astor Place, and cut inside to a regular city bus. Broadway has one-way traffic, but out of the window behind Betty you can clearly see cars going the opposite way. The bus has a (bizarre blown-up half) subway map posted, which does not happen. Finally, when Betty and Henry get off the bus, they actually show that it's not the same bus in the establishing shot!

This is similar to last year's 23rd Street IRT station which was labelled as "Downtown and Brooklyn". That train terminates at City Hall!

Sometimes I wish they would have just set the show in Los Angeles.

Henry shirtless made the episode.

Well, I enjoy Hilda for reasons other than storylines.. :eyebrow:

I do too, after watching the episode I rewound just to see the interaction and dialogue between the two - the little kicks while beginning to watch 'Psycho' were touching.

what is the actor's name?

I had a Betty marathon this weekend and got caught up on the 4 episodes that were backed up in my DVR. Hilarious episode! The blowing line was classic!

I read earlier this summer they were casting a love interest for Betty to cause conflict between her and Henry. I assume the Sandwich man is the guy.

I'm not sure if it was this episode or the previous one, but the Sandwich Guy singing "Unbreak my heart" was hysterical.
