DVD Talk Godfather
This turned out to be a pretty solid episode. The comic parallell was great, slightly overdone but still worked.
The characters were all back to their old selves which was great. Lana wasn't annoying. Chloe looked good and Clark and Lex working together without the fued was great.

IIRC, traditionally, Superman has never had the "major loss that drove him to being Superman" storyline, with the exception of his planet exploding, right? In some versions, his dad died, but that wasn't what sent him over. He just kind of realized that he had a lot of powers, was sent here to save people, and went ahead and did it. No parents shot in an alley, no uncle ben, nothing. Maybe the writers are heading toward a more Spider-Man like beginning? Thus the cape shot at the end?

Not too shabby an ep. Some interesting stuff. First time in a while that Lana's actually been sort of an interesting character to me. She seems to be going about it a bit willy-nilly, but I'm interested in what exactly her revenge scheme entails.
Agreed that the newspaper editor is lame. Really hope Perry shows up again this season.
