GAME TIME!- It is the first Friday night for the Dillon Panther football team and things do not go as expected. Coach Eric Taylor (Kyle Chandler) returns to see his old players and old team in shambles. Meanwhile, Tim Riggins (Taylor Kitsch) faces a scary situation that results in him reaching out to the last place on earth he would ever expect. Jason Streets (Scott Porter) investigates alternative options for his paraplegic lifestyle. Aimee Teegarden, Minka Kelly, Adrianne Palicki, Jesse Plemons, and Connie Britton also star.

Both Kyle and Connie are scheduled to appear on The Rachael Ray Show on Monday, 10/22

So, how can IMDB's [sarcasm]wonderful[/sarcasm] rating system have this episode with 12 votes and an average of 3.9/10?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1031345/

Doesn't matter ... I am always stoked for FNL.

I wonder if the Dillon Panthers could beat Notre Dame?

Hmmm... because only 12 people bother to vote?
(that would include me!)

Since the episode hasn't aired, I bet it was some production assistants from Women's Murder Club or maybe Les Moonves' 12 secret identities.

Riggins was killing me in this episode. His passion play for Lyla, and car ride with Buddy, and the impending "Riggins and Street go to Mexico" escapade.

McGregor's a big ol' a-hole for what he called Street.

Julie needs some sense slapped into her, but wasnt' expecting it so literally.

I enjoyed Smash and Matt's scrap after the game, plus it gave the caregiver some bruises to work over for Matt, and if you asked Matt about Julie during that bit of physical therapy, he'd say "Julie who?"

Eric wasn't feeling it for the cut-throat nature of college football (when given the task of cutting players). His displeasure over hearing another guy helping out with household repairs was good for a laugh.

"Tell Glen to keep his hands out of my wife's icebox."

They didn't write lines like this for you when you were doing Early Edition!

Best moment of the episode! I'm just sorry Tami isn't in a mental place where she could enjoy it more. (I've been hoping a moment like that was coming since sometime last season.)

It'd be nice if that and her Dad coming back to town would help her get her head on straight. But I doubt that, at least not right away. (Though I'm guessing we might get an "accidental" discovery by Julie of Matt and the nurse lady doing something.)

I've never been so happy to see a tv character get slapped across the face. Bravo, Mrs. Coach.

Julie could always walk in on the nurse and Catalina from My Name is Earl practicing their accents.

College season hadn't started yet apparently, they were still cutting players.

I noticed that as well too. Hard to believe that high school season starts before college football season.

I don't know about texas, but when I was in high school, our first game was always a week before school started.

Okay.. yes, they are still cutting players... but still... it's what? A week or so before the first game and he's able to leave for a couple of days?
School definitely started in the last episode, so I guess in this school, the season starts after school starts.

Oh, and we now know that at least Smash is DEFINITELY a senior this year.

Riggins was definitely pissing me off this episode... By the point that he was walking into the church, I was really frustrated. I don't mind in the least Lyla being devout, but to have another character follow the same trajectory...

And the Street/Riggins Mexico adventure does not make me happy either. Street seems like a smart guy, so why's he going in for this?!?

I also liked seeing Julie get slapped, but I was also really happy to see Tami's remorse over it.

I'm so happy Coach will be back in Dillon... Next week should be good as the shift takes place.

Best ep. of the season so far, I thought.

I thought maybe Riggins was just playing Lyla. Possibly.

Looks like next week
Spoiler:
the "intrigue" heats back up with the dead guy, which I'm hoping doesn't put this superb show way off course.

I'm not a real big fan of the Riggins "conversion" storyline, because he never really was a bad person, he just was lazy and not living up to his potential.

Oh, and just so we have a running count that's one game won with a "trick" play. They never showed the time on the clock though so I can't say a last second play.

Probably because he's desperate and ready to believe almost anything at the moment. In a lesser show it would have been set up as a big dramatic story but of course in this one you get someone calling it bullshit and telling him he's stupid for going for it.

Nice to see that Landry's father is such a big fan of his. Are there any good relationships between parents and kids in this show?
