Haysbert's Pedro Cerrano look is about ready to disappear. His hair was already growing back in the last episode and I assume the goatee is a goner this week. In recent interviews, he's back to his normal look.

Great episode so far, especially the wives segment, which is just Snake Doctor.

"This is MY hooch!"

Also, a lot of Mamet-isms this episode. "It's buddy call, we're going swimming."

Pretty good I thought. Even if the father/daughter thing was a little hokey, it was nice to have just that and no wives thing. The dudes being rescued were incredibly annoying though. I'm glad the one "manned up," but would the older guy really have so carelessly tossed those chutes to his son in a "think fast" manner while they're all trapped in a minefield with rebels closing in?

This show is infinitely better w/o the wives, or at least when they are kept to a minimum.

I thought that except for the father/daughter/mother bits, this episode was pretty much by the numbers. This rescue would have been good in season 1, but felt like filler now and didn't expand any of the ongoing stories.

I thought the "inept civilians" angle was a bit overdone. The "man up" guy was funny; he transformed from Barney Fife to Jack Bauer before our very eyes.

That was hilarious, esp. that shot of his wife watching him turn into Jack Bauer. She seemed very impressed.

after they killed the first go round of baddies why not give the one guy one of the rifles?
rifles are generally easier to shoot for a newbie, plus they'd have more ammo between reloads and be more accurate at range

Yea, I was wondering that too. I guess it's a toss up though. You can have Bob take out almost all of them with the rifle and let the other guy be a distraction with the pistol or you can have the other guy be more accurate with the rifle and Bob be more accurate with the rifle, but Bob would be limited in range, etc.

CBS GIVES FRESHMAN COMEDY "THE BIG BANG THEORY" AND DRAMA "THE UNIT" FULL SEASON ORDERS

"The Big Bang Theory" Is the First New Comedy to Receive a Full Season Pickup

CBS has given full season orders to its freshman comedy THE BIG BANG THEORY and the drama THE UNIT. THE BIG BANG THEORY becomes the first new comedy to receive a full season pickup.

THE BIG BANG THEORY, a key newcomer to CBS's Monday comedy block, is averaging 8.97 million viewers, 4.3/10 in adults 25-54 and 3.6/09 in adults 18-49 in its Monday (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) time period. THE BIG BANG THEORY has built on its HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER lead-in by +8% in households, +10% in adults 25-54, +9% in adults 18-49 and +10% in viewers.

THE UNIT is averaging 11.44 million viewers, 3.1/08 in adults 18-49 and 4.2/09 in adults 25-54. Tuesday's episode posted THE UNIT's best ratings in key measures since February.

This info was posted in the full season pickup thread, but just in case you didn't know.

It's good news and a sign that The Unit is at its peak right now.

Good to know. The Unit is one of my favorite shows on right now. Glad to hear it'll be around at least a bit longer.
