Wow, not a single comment so far. I am actually horrified at the quality of this new Simpsons season. for the first time in 17 years I almost decided not to watch last week's episode. But I figured 17 years was too long a streak to break and I watched it.
I'm not one of those people who say Simpsons stopped being great at season 10. I watched season ten on DVD 2 months ago and loved it.
But I'm hoping tonight's episode does the job. From it's description it sounds like it might.

I liked the Negotiator DVD thing.
Hopefully Gil's not dead.

There were some funny lines at the beginning (when Homer was asking Marge how drunk he could be), but I fell asleep right after the bank thing was over. I don't even know how the episode ended.

I'm with JasonTHX, this really has not been a good season so far. I don't think any of the episodes are worse than normal, it's just that we haven't had a single "good" one yet and that's unusual.

I laughed at the Shawshank reference with Dwight crawling through the sewage pipe, then spotting a pure spring water pipe right next to it. Other than that, this wasn't a good episode.

I actually laughed more times during this one than I have in a long while. But I agree that the plots are horrible. I gave up hope on them ever having good plots again. I'm just hoping the good jokes overpower the terrible ones at this point.

The Simpsons have been funny this season. This Marge-centric episode was a mild one, though. That one joke about "Look me in the eye and say that!" "I can't! They're too buggy!" really creeped me out. But they had some good gags, like Homer putting Maggie on as a tie, and Lou yelling at the cheif "Maybe we should me the monkey cheif!"

That was definitely a laugh out loud funny episode for me! They should have Gil return as a down on his luck zombie in one of the next Treehouse of Horror segments.
Glad to see someone else shares the same opinion.
