Three episodes this season, three wacky "new" jobs for Homer. It seems that's all we get now.
The one bright spot was finally giving Maggie something to do.
I saw an ad for this during football and it showed Homer getting on Santa's Little Helper to ride back home with Maggie after being rescued. That wasn't in the episode at all. I don't think that's happened in a long time.

I don't expect every episode to be groundbreaking or ROTFL - They are a fun way to kill 1/2 an hour.
Why does everyone want to see shows fail? At least Fox does not turn the Simpsons into 1 full hour, like they are doing with the Office, Reaper, Chuck ... just dragging out shows to fill timeslot space.
I thought the Guido town was a funny idea, kinda like Long Island / Staten Island.

I thought it was a decent episode. Not in the top 10, but not terrible either.
Highlights:
Skinner driving his office chair to work.
Bart acknowledging that Homer gets dumber every year, but "seems to have plateaued lately." ;-)
"If elected leader of our little society, I'll be in charge of deciding how far we can go without being gay."
The C.R.I.E. lady's buzzwords were all spot-on ("She's not crying, she's celebrating her independance!").
Once again, a celebrity who plays an actual character instead of themselves, which is always a plus in my book.

Recycled plot aside, I thought this episode had a far better script than we've been getting from this show the last few years.
Biggest laugh for me was the silence when it looked like Bart may have died, and then they both start laughing - good timing.

It has been a while since Maggie went on one of her adventures. I wondered why they had dropped that as a device and was happy that they brought it back again.
Also, I really liked Marge kneeing that lady in the stomach to get to her crying baby.

When the tow truck driver pulled down the mud flap that looked like Homer, I rolled my eyes at such a lame joke. Then Homer came out with the line, 'Sheesh, you pose for one mud flap cover...' and I rolled on the floor laughing my ass off.

I was half-paying-attention to this episode last night.
Even that was too much..
