Yeah..they will be around like Wilson. So there will be about 7-9 total cast members. I am not sure how they are going to juggle it, but honestly, those three could not have been his interns for ever. eventually they would have want to go out on their own..form their own teams etc.

Honestly I could easily see one of the old interns leaving in a spinoff show.

I was hoping the Immigrant chick would stay. :(

I loved House's line about the twins distracting straight men and lesbians.

'House' Chooses New staff...(details about who gets to stick around inside)

Spoiler:
Dr. House might have found his new underlings.

According to sources, Kal Penn, Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson will continue on the hit medical series "House" as regulars.

There were among a number of recurring actors on the show, playing candidates to work with Dr. House (Hugh Laurie), following the departure of his previous assistants, played by Jennifer Morrison, Jesse Spencer and Omar Epps.

Penn, Wilde and Jacobson's characters were early standouts in this week's episode, which introduced all applicants.

Originally, the plan was for two of the characters to stick around and for the actors playing them to become regulars on the UMS-produced series. But the producers ended up picking up three actors, sources said.

The script for the episode, which would reveal Dr. House's final selection, is expected to be distributed today.

A rep for the producers and UMS declined comment.

I believe the immigrant chick was lisa loeb.

According to IMDB her name is Heather Fox. She doesn't look like Loeb to me.

The candidate stuff was great, but the patient (who wasn't Jada Smith) was unlikeable in her personality and motives that I was actually rooting against her. I think that was partially there intent though, to see House protecting her sham of a dream while arbitrarily firing so many potentially deserving candidates. Regardless, I didn't get the warm fuzzies when House revealed he hadn't actually ratted her out.

I like the old guy who is now House's Assistant.

Yeah, me too. I thought the assistant stuff was going to be a mess, but I really liked all of that. I wish they would make it the plot-thread for the whole first half of the season, it would be a lot better than some of the other plots this show has had. Evil cop, evil hospital manger person, I'm looking at you.

The old guy being House's assistant has a chance of being gold. It was actually nice to see House being pretty compassionate to that guy. I wonder why he wasn't his usual, assholey self?

I was ready to give up on the show after the season opener, but I'm glad I watched this episode as it was much much better. They should have just skipped last weeks ep and started the season with this one.

I think it's because the old guy knows his stuff, just hasn't put it into practice, and will looking for more mature insight in the medical cases. Plus, I'm sure there is something in House's background that makes him a little more respectful toward this older fella. (Sam's dad from Stargate SGI, BTW). Remember, House told him "I'd like to know what you think" before hiring him as an assistant.

I forgot to mention I was surprised and a little disappointed to see the hot ER chick from last week get booted within a minute of the opening credits.
