You'll need a HDTV converter and an HDTV antenna. I got mine on eBay for about $100, but I can now watch free HDTV. It's glorious.

or like most HDTV's now you'll already have a HD receiver built into and be able to pick up those HD channels simply by plugging in the cable line in the back of your TV.

If you have cable getting a cable box is an easy route also.

I'm not sure how long prison is going to last, but it seemed to me that this was one of the fresher episodes (or two episodes) of the show. I really enjoyed it.

Randy's stupidity is getting old and isn't really funny anymore.

I think that's what they are working on this season, at least that's what it looks like from this first episode; with Joy administering tough love.

Edit: nevermind, it looks like they aren't going that way.

Also, Ben Foster sure plays crazy good.

Spoiler:
I think I read it was going to last at least the first quarter of the season.
I enjoyed the episode too. Lots of funny stuff and Catalina wearing her work outfit.

Mine was in HD, but I was having audio issues. The sound was too low. I'm on Insight. Same with the Office.

comcast keeps cutting off the free local hd channels during primetime for me. first no csi miami premeir hd now tonight. kitchen nightmares worked though last night. i never had a problem with it in the summer. i wonder if they are doing this on purpose during the big tv nights to get people to pay.

Ben Foster was great in this episode! I just saw 3:10 To Yuma last weekend and Ben Foster was incredible in it (I had no idea who he was before seeing that), and now he's also incredibly good in the season premiere of "Earl". (Timely casting coup by the "Earl" producers.)

I thought he was great too. It took me a few moments to peg him as Claire's boyfriend from Six Feet Under. That's quite a range he's got.

My recording was all hosed up. Digital noise every couple seconds, for a few seconds - repeating every 3-5 minutes. I only got about halfway through the episode before I was too annoyed to continue. Office was fine immediately after that.

Anyone know of a replay of this?

Joy was actually spot-on with her assessment of Randy, and Jaime Pressly doles out the lines without missing a beat, and was well-deserving of her Emmy win a few weeks ago.

Ben Foster turned in a good supporting performance, becoming yet another person who Earl has to help because of a wrong he inflicted on him.

I agree that Joy was spot on this week.

I like the change with Earl being in prison there are lots of great characters to explore, I guess adding Randy to the mix won't be that bad.

Now that Earl has some "juice" there should be more interaction with the inmates.

@ them hiding behind the fat guys

Yeah, but Joy's responses to it are always gold. "Hillbilly Linus."

This show was wearing really thin on me at the end of last season, but I really liked this episode. As amazingly stupid as it sounds, I think Earl being locked up is going to make for some interesting story lines. I didn't initially think so either. Kind of makes sense. I mean the guy was a first rate tool. If the karma thing is real, he has some making up to do.
