Weeds..how is it
After watching Big Love and Entourage I cancelled my HBO til the new seasons arrive. I started to watch of bit of Weeds..man she is hot Anyhow is it worth netflixing season one on Blu ray or not so much?

Great show!

Love it just started it

If you you like BIG LOVE and ENTOURAGE, WEEDS will not dissapoint. Although I would recommend that you rent instead of purchase. The show is hilarious, but I've noticed the rewatchable factor is kinda low.
Only watched Season 1 and part of 2.. but I really liked it.. Like critter said, kind of similar feel to those other shows...
Lovvve it. Great writing and even better if you have a doobie. :)
Yeah, definitely worth checking out.
I don't love it, but I do like it. It's a show that I'll watch but wouldn't mind if it got cancelled or something. It took me five episodes to start enjoying it. And yes, MLP, and her depressed friend, are hot.
Big fan of the show, especially the first two seasons. I'm still a little on the fence about season 3, but it's still very good. I definitely recommend it for a rental.
It took the introduction of the brother in law for the show to get interesting/funny in Season 1, but since then, I was hooked and really loved Season 2. I'd say its worth watching, definitely.
I like the show alright, but it's pretty disposable and just so you don't go in thinking it's on par with something like Big Love, here's a very negative review of the first season that kinda thrashes the show.
i enjoy it too. i have the season sets since i don't get showtime. my one complaint was that i wish there were more episodes per season.
It's good but not great.
It's a favorite of mine. I've gotten a couple of friends into it and thus have watched the episodes in Seasons 1 and 2 multiple times. MLP is one of the hottest 40+ year old women on the planet! And, the show is hilarious!

I agree with those who are sort of indifferent to it; it's not bad, but if Showtime suddenly canceled it tomorrow, I'd probably just shrug (still haven't seen the past two episodes, and I don't feel any rush to watch 'em).
There's a certain...smugness to it that can be really off-putting at times (starting with the theme song--I fucking HATE that tune and its eye-rolling lyrics), and it has this forced quirkiness that only adds to the turnoff factor. That said, some of the acting is great (especially Kevin Nealon) and, for me anyways, is what makes the episodes fly by. I said this in another thread, but it reminds me a lot of Entourage: an extremely lightweight and disposable (but occasionally entertaining) show without an ounce of depth whatsoever, that claims it's a "satire" but is actually nothing of the sort, and thinks it's a lot more clever than it actually is. Except Weeds has far better acting, and I don't want to strangle half the cast like I do with Entourage. |

Of course, you might be referring to Elizabeth Perkins. Fifty is the new thirty. |
Love the show, watched it since the first episode. This season is not as good as I expected, but the most recent episode has things moving in a good direction for Nancy :)
I personally think Elizabeth Perkins is much hotter than MLP... (Im not talking about how she used to look, I think she has aged well) look up her nude shot in Allure for that (I know there is touching up, but I think she looked better than the other actresses in the shoot)
This season has been a little uneven, have enjoyed the Doug and Andy storylines, and the funnier parts of Nancy's debt repayment, such as drive bys in a prius. |

It was probably the very *first* song about the conformity of suburbia ever written, and is considered a quite famous and historically important folk tune. Pete Seeger also sang it back in 1962. Ms. Reynolds died back in the 70's. You aren't alone in hating it though. According to wiki, comic/singer Tom Leherer called it "the most sanctimonious song ever written." |
